Opening player always defaults to shuffle music.

I know I’m kinda late to the party, and reading the comments and other discussions it seems that many people have had an issue with being unable to shuffle their music, but I’ve noticed I’m stuck with the complete opposite problem. See I’m the type of person who creates intricately structured playlists built in a specific order, and then avoiding shuffle buttons like the plague, because I like the gratifying feeling of memorizing a playlist so well that I know what song is up next before the previous one has even ended.

Somewhere between the time people were complaining about there being no shuffle and when I jumped on the bandwagon, Valve did in fact add a shuffle button, but because of the way they implemented it, every time I open the music player by clicking on one of my playlists, it automatically jumps straight into shuffling them and I have to manually turn the shuffle feature off, which is a pain in the butt to have to do. I just wanna start from the beginning and let it roll in the specific order I made it, not start on some random song and have to rearrange them back the way I want and start over at the beginning.

Also on some of my larger playlists (like my hand-crafted "play all" playlist), simply turning off shuffle doesn’t remove them from their shuffled order, which means re-arranging them back to how I want is near impossible, as the shuffle button takes my 114 songs and turns them into an infinite list I can't even scroll to the bottom of. Valve, if you’re listening somewhere up on your mountain of cash, please, do something about this.

this issue has been annoying me as well, every time i reboot, i have to redo my playlist :-(

I also never use shuffle. If I want a playlist shuffled, I'll click shuffle. /signed.

Exact same issue and it is infuriating. It really needs to be fixed, and I'd rather not go through the process outlined one of the above comments

LOL, to find this solution I had several headaches and thousands of attempts xD, maybe it's a rude and cautious method but finally I'm happy the problem has been solved for me.

It's sad see every day new updates and features for Steam Streaming and Big Picture and nothing for the Music Player.

I will hope see developers come someday to fix and improve the Steam Music Player.
