Incorrect Album Art
ISSUE
Incorrect Album Art - Album Art Not Updating

OS
Windows 7

STEPS
I started testing the steam music beta by clearing my music folder of everything but the official portal 2 OST, and everything worked as expected.
Next, I added in my collection of TF2 Music (not an official soundtrack but a collection of songs which I applied album and artist id tags to).
Since I did not associate album art to my TF2 songs I was not able to brows for them in the album view of steam music, even though they were linked by an album id tag. (maybe this is also a bug?)
I went to windows media player and added album art to the TF2 album I created.

Expected:
In the steam music album view: to see the original Portal 2 Album cover, and a new TF2 album cover that I created

What Actually Happened:
The TF2 Album still did not appear in the album view
The Portal 2 Album now had the TF2 Album's art

I went back to windows media player to verify that I did not accidentally assign the TF2 art to the wrong album.
Furthermore, nothing I do now seems to be able to revert the Portal 2 Album back to its original art. I have tried removing the TF2 songs, and even deleting and re-downloading the Portal 2 OST. But no matter what I do it will appear to have the TF2 art in the album view.

It seems steam music doesnt check meta data for album art, it just looks for the first image in the folder. I seperated every album into sub folders for artist / album and everything is working as expected, though this isn't my perferred file structure for organization.
Actually we are checking for album artwork in the MP3 files first, so there might be a different problem. Can you zip up the actual albums folders and mail them to steammusic@valvesoftware.com ? Thanks...

Ok, I started off by moving everything out of my music directory (except for the sample music which is always there for some reason). Then I opened up a fresh Portal 2 OST and unzipped it into the the main music directory. These songs should be associated with the portal 2 ost album cover. Just for fun I also added in a few zelda tracks that did not have meta data for an associated album cover (the album art is floating around with them, however).

This produced some really interesting results: Even though I cleaned out my music library folder and unzipped a fresh portal 2 OST, the image in the steam music album view reverted back to the TF2 album cover (Even though it has the correct album cover in other applications, and had the correct album cover when in a distinct sub folder). Furthermore, Although the zelda tracks were not visable in the album view (since there was no album art specified), when browsing for them from the artist view the album that is shows is also that tf2 album image!

I really have no idea what is going on. I will try and email the zipped library and some screenshots shortly.

EDIT: The email has been sent.
