Album sorting order

Not sure, if that's really a bug, but it's unexpected for sure.

The albums view sorts by no idea what. Sorting alphabetically would perfectly make sense.

OS: Windows 8.1 with latest updates

Thanks for the info. Although this still doesn't make sense for me as I have some Cyrillic albums by Cyrillic artists and they come somewhere at the beginning, the usual sorting order is for non-ASCII characters to follow behind ASCII ones. So even concidering that, the sorting order is out of order ;)
Still, sorting by ALBUM NAME would make perfect sense.

a. No, they aren't. Or not really. Otherwise, I don't get why a Cyrillic album is sorted before several latin albums, Cyrillic letters are ordered BEHIND the latin ones in Unicode.
b. Sorting albums by album names makes more sense. In another thread, someone suggested more sorting options. I could totally live with an optional sorting by album name.

An option to sort by album name would be nice. By artist is confusing if you have a lot of albums by multiple artists, or the artist name is written in foreign characters (like Japanese artists) which completely messes up the order. And most of all, I'm already used to browse my albums by album name on other music players.

Another sorting "problem":
If I browse through albums by a defined artist, those are sorted by album name. I think it would be more logical to sort them by release year. So it would be nice to have a "sort by" dropdown or something similar.

In desktop mode:
When I select one artist on the left and see the albums on the right, the albums are sorted by name. This is how most music applications (like Windows Media Player, the Win 8 Music App or my Smartphone) behave.

But what I would like to see is the chronological order of the albums! Most of the time, I select one artist and listen to all the albums in a row. But when artists and their musical style develop over the years, its great to hear the albums in the correct order, not all mixed up.

Having this sorting ability would definitely be an advantage, compared to some other music applications :-)

Add a sort by folders option. I have a music folder on my computer, but inside I have many playlist folders like party, birthday, ..., with many differents song inside from many differents artist. I try to add my music folder in Steam Music but my folder are not displaying properly. All my song are mix in a huge mess by meta...
