Steam families restricted if different country
I think, it's most "wrong" function there. Because i can live in one country and my true family can live in different country. I not talk about friends now, even family can't access me just because i work in different country for example. So that new function totally dissappointed me.

it's useless function now because this. Valve killed family libraries. I hope at least they can return optional choice for old system.

+1, Makes no sense as a family can be in different countries for many different reasons, doesnt mean we stopped being a family.... plus i purchased the game with my own money, had it been a physical object i could send it to another country whenever i want it (Ofc doesnt mean we both could play it but you get the point) so i dont get how they are allowed to restrict what i do with what i have already purchased with my own money, just cause we are using their platform doesnt mean the game is any less mine (ours) after i (we) get it in my (our) library, as they already get a cut from each game sold and from many other sources, leaving the game to only be mine (ours) hence should also mean they should have no authority in deciding who i give my game to, and if the person i give it to cheats then its fair to ban the game from the account sharing it as its the account sharing it thats responsible for who plays the games. Not the smartest move by them, but then again, it is valve, they would do anything to get another dollar in their pocket.
+1. I love sharing my games with my family and this new system just destroyed it, they can't join the family.
+1. I live in Finland, my girlfriend in Ukraine, and we can't move her due to war. And even my blood family is scattered: some in Russia, some in Hungary, some in US even.

On the other hand, I do understand why this limitation exists, since regional limitations to games' licenses, and it would make it more likely to abuse the sharing. On the other other hand, limits to family size and leaving/joining family should already be enough, so it's just that regional rules should be checked before accessing the game.
I still live with my parents, my brother moved to Germany. The sharing worked till now, but we tried out the new Family system and I guess now it's over. Tho it would be from January onwards anyway. A very bad change imo, he's my brother, he's family. Thank you Valve.
I moved to canada, changed my bank details and found my UK steam account would NOT accept canadian payment cards even after following the lame how to of (change country and billing currency then make a purchase), so we (partner and I) created a new profile in Canada and shared the games... THAT WORKED... only now, well... the family won't accept my new account as family because "region"... which means they are going to loose sales if I cant share games. this is daft...

I have family members in a neighbouring country - not to mention my fiance! Even if my fiance or myself were to move today, it seems that we still won't be able to share libraries, given their definition on the error message that due to purchases made on the accounts from different regions. My library severely outnumbers his, so buying the games shared are out of the question. Streaming services tried this kind of restriction and it did not go well.

I guess I need to stop buying or redeeming games on steam.

Valve should revert the changes about the country restrictions, old family sharing was working just fine with my family back in my home country.
Doubt it'll change, but I'll +1 anyway.
