Steam families restricted if different country
I think, it's most "wrong" function there. Because i can live in one country and my true family can live in different country. I not talk about friends now, even family can't access me just because i work in different country for example. So that new function totally dissappointed me.

it's useless function now because this. Valve killed family libraries. I hope at least they can return optional choice for old system.

I have the same issue... my sister lives in a different country already for years and now we can't use family sharing anymore cause our store regions don't match
This is a core feature of the new system, they will never change it.
People complained since March when the BETA started and Valve does not care.
On the contrary, they actually made it even more strict since then.
So i would not hold my breath that this will be changed.

Our family is divided into 3 countries. This does not mean that we have stopped being a family. And yes, we like to play each other's games. Even governments understand that family members can move to different countries for different reasons, we do not lose kinship or intimacy because of this

Yet another Steam feature that marginalizes those who live in different countries. VPN?
+1, never had this issue with the previous system. Saw the alert saying to switch, did, and suddenly she can't see any of my games and it's telling her she's region locked. Please rectify this quickly, I feel such disappointment for even switching over now.

You had no choice but to switch over, they disabled the old system with the new update so everyone has to use this BS system now.

Would do nothing since all members of the family also need to have their Steam Store region set to the same country.
I feel like the wording is ambiguous. They use the term "families", but in the FAQ they change it to household.

"Your account activity does not show that you are part of the same household as the existing members."

I tried to add a family member who lives in the next town and it was not allowed.
+1, I would like to not be limited to what is considered my "household" family just because my wife is living abroad. This would be a very nice feature to have so I hope they consider it for those of us that can't have strictly in-home families.
