Buffering is crazy
This is a problem that must be fixed I can't even enjoy a stream with this buffering.

Or your download speed is not high enaught or is the streamer upload speed too slow.

I don't think 30mbps aren't enough to watch a stream...

You all are't using speedtest.net right? That one isn't accurate, use testmy.net for accurate speed tests.

And it could be the hosts upload speed, if he set his bit rate to high, he could be the problem.

its nothing to do with yours or the streamer bandwith, steam max bitrate if 3500kbps which is only 3mbps which everyone has up and down unless your still on adsl, its the garbage client steam client

Exactly. This buffering is almost unbearable. Every 30 seconds or such it starts buffering for like 5-10 seconds. It has nothing to do with internet connection at user's end. My internet connection is 1000/100 Mbps fiber and my friend has 100/100 Mbps fiber connection with extremely low latencies.

Steam broadcasting used to be ok, but now it has become unusable.

Edit: I tried using Steam broadcast through web browser and it didn't buffer at all. So the client is useless for broadcasts at the moment at least for me. Browser seems to be working just fine.

Yeah, same problem here.... Every 30 seconds or such it starts buffering for like 5-10 seconds. The person im watching is broadcasting from 1gb connect, I'm on 178mbps connect. This is person to person streaming, I assume when you watch people publicly streaming that it works better. The client is the issue.

Steam Broadcast is currently in an unusable state.

I used to love being able to watch anyone play a game without them having to set up any streaming programs at all! Steam is just pushing people over to twitch, it's a bummer to see the mistakes they're making in a rush to (unsuccessfully) surpass discord as social media. Steam, that's not what we want, stop over-reaching, please.

I start to watch my friend's stream and it will run without problems for 10-15 seconds then it'll freeze up in buffering indefinitely. I must close the stream and click "watch game" again and again and again to see another 10-15 seconds of it until it freezes up at buffering every time.

I just use discord for streaming since this feature never really got fixed and discord has a much shorter stream delay anyways.
