Broadcast is delayed
I'm sitting about 10 feet away from the person who is broadcasting to me and I can hear an audible 10-15 second delay.

Doesn’t really matter where you sit, it’s still transmitted via Valve’s servers, so 10-15 second is actually pretty good. It’s not intended for (near)real-time communication, etc.

Have you tried Remote Play instead of broadcast? It requires both machines to be logged into the same account but negates a Steam server round-trip. Have one person play on their host PC with the other watching on the client end. Or vice versa - have one person watch the host machine and the other play on the client.

The reason I recommend this is because Remote Play uses only your local network and doesn't need to round-trip using the Steam servers.
