Cannot send "Invite to watch" while in VR?
I've been fighting with this for a few days. I have a friend who wants to watch me play in VR over streaming. I have "streaming settings" set to "anyone can watch". In any non-vr game, I can click on my friend in the Friends list and click "invite to watch", and the invitation goes out.

However, once I'm in VR, I lose the ability to send out an invitation. If I use the desktop app (in real live), the "Invite to watch" is still available, but it doesn't send out an invitation. If I go into VR-> Steam homepage-> Friends and click that little arrow next to his name, there is no "Invite to watch" in the dropdown.

What's really weird is we got working earlier this afternoon, but I came back after a break and now it's now working.

Also, my friend is getting "broadcaster is offline". I have "Anyone can watch my games" set, along with "Always show live status", and the streaming settings are set for best performance (low resultion, low bitrate).

How can I get streaming to work?

Same
Git
Same here.
I can broadcast NON-VR games but when I tried to broadcast HL:A to a friend it always says that I'm offline...

Same. I can press the invite button but nothing happens. Friend can request to watch but it just says "streamer is offline".

Same here. Non-VR works, even though sometimes it is a bit of a pain to go through the invitation process and acceptance process. Needs a couple tries. VR games don't work.

So... after some experimentation, I've had luck by changing my download server. Under Steam->Settings->Downloads-> Download Region. I changed it from Detroit to New York and my broadcasting started working.

Side note: Steam support says VR titles are not supported for broadcasting. However, VR is absolutely supported for VR titles as long as you have the right settings.

When I use „Steam Broadcasting“ in VR (i.e. Alyx) and my setting in „Broadcast Settings“ is at „Friends can request to watch my games (default)“, how do I accept their request to watch?

I can see their request in the VR-game, but how do I accept there?
