Unable to watch friend's broadcast

I enjoy watching my friend play games but since a new client update or something whenever I click the friends list and go to watch a friend's game, it always loads a new tab and says failed to load broadcast. It use to open the community tab on my steam and attempt to connect the broadcast through there, so when I ran into this new issue I went and tried the old way. Through the community tab I searched my friend and was able to find the "watch game" option next to the green "join game option". Recently I have been unable to find the "watch game " botton. I'm just very frustrated with navigating through the system and I need help.

Are you able to watch random broadcasts? If nothing loads and you are using windows, try updating, I was having a similar issue and now streaming works fine. Also if that is not the case have your friend invite you to their broadcast (it usually opens another window) or try using the browser.

I'm having the exact same problem (as are other people) and watching public broadcasts isn't an issue. The normal page for watching the broadcasts in the main Steam window works just fine, but a recent update causes it to try to open in a chat window if you try to join their stream from the Friends List. The chat window thing is what doesn't work, and there's no option to *not* open it in that window. If your friend has their options set to "only friends can watch", then you can't search through public broadcasts to open it the normal way. There are a few workarounds, but the "watch game" button in the friend list was always the easiest one, and the recent update broke it.

Yes I have that update as well, the friend inviting you to watch instead of trying to join doesn't open the chat window version.

send invite to watch to ur friend

he need get ur request and accept

if he random join ur broadcast it wont work

they broke broadcast so bad like the 2 years never fixed notification bug

I safer from the same issus with the broadcasting.

I cannot watch nor public and nor friends broadcasting.
