No Sound on broadcasting
The last couple times I've gone to watch my friend play a game, I can't hear her game. I've tried a a few different computers and browsers, but I can't hear her at all. I've tried fiddling with the settings, but nothing seems to help with sound. Anything I can do?

So the only thing I've been able to see is that when my friend has her headset plugged in, in the corner it says I'm muted. I've watched another friend and while their headset is plugged in I can't hear them, but if they're playing through speakers I can hear the game just fine.

I was watching a friend play PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds with no sound but when I asked her to switch to another game to test it (Monstrum), I could hear it. Now, she's playing Dead by Daylight and I can't hear the game. Could the sound issue be specific to certain types of games?

She went right back to Monstrum again, just in case, and the sound worked. So far, it's Battlegrounds and Dead by Daylight that don't broadcast with sound for us.

Yeah battlegrounds must have some issues with sound over broadcast.

also have the same problem with different games (like Dirty Bomb, RRDDD).
Tried the steps described here (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1874-QRUJ-3541), but without any success.

Same problem watching PUBG. To be clear, I'm selecting "Watch" from the buddylist.

I've seen in other threads that the streamer (source) should change their speaker's advanced properties from 24bit to 16bit 48,000Hz (DVD Quality). Haven't tested yet. Will advise if it works.

But yes, this is still an issue as of 8/3/2017

Same issue here, I can't get sound from any broadcast I try to watch.

I've looked through my sound settings and nothing is muted, I can watch game trailers fine but as soon as I go to a broadcast nothing.

Any ideas would be great.
This worked for me.

I asked my friend to change his setting from 24bit to 16bit 48,000Hz (DvD quality) and it works great.

By the way i have mine as 16 also I don't know if it matters
