She went right back to Monstrum again, just in case, and the sound worked. So far, it's Battlegrounds and Dead by Daylight that don't broadcast with sound for us.
Tried the steps described here (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1874-QRUJ-3541), but without any success.
I've seen in other threads that the streamer (source) should change their speaker's advanced properties from 24bit to 16bit 48,000Hz (DVD Quality). Haven't tested yet. Will advise if it works.
But yes, this is still an issue as of 8/3/2017
I've looked through my sound settings and nothing is muted, I can watch game trailers fine but as soon as I go to a broadcast nothing.
Any ideas would be great.
I asked my friend to change his setting from 24bit to 16bit 48,000Hz (DvD quality) and it works great.
By the way i have mine as 16 also I don't know if it matters
