[Optional] How to install BasilMod Pack (to enable installed server mods)

Hey Guys,

NOTE: If you choose to not to install BasilMod Pack you will not receive GM Announcements or be able to use the Raven mod.

We have some modifications enabled on the server now, listed below are the current mods installed, and also how to install the Client Synchronization Mod (known as BasilMod Pack) that will sync the mods between you and the server so you never have to modify or download anything ever again if we choose to install a new mod.

Current Mods Installed On Server

• Basil Mod Pack (Main Syncronization Mod)

• Raven (Sideways Chicken) Mod

How To Install Basil Mod Pack On Your PC

Download the files from dropbox
Download Here[www.dropbox.com]

You will see a Download button in the top right, click that and choose zip.

Extracting the files
Extract the files from the zip into the following location:
{ YOUR PATH TO STEAM }\Steam\steamapps\common\Life is Feudal Your Own\BasilMod\pack

This means inside the Life is Feudal Your Own folder you will need to create a BasilMod folder and then a pack folder inside that and then extract the files inside the pack folder.

You should see something like this:

NOTE: Don't worry about the "favserver" file in my screenshot/gif there, that will be added after you connect to the server.

Last and VERY IMPORTANT Step
Go into your main Life Is Feudal folder:
{ YOUR PATH TO STEAM }\Steam\steamapps\common\Life is Feudal Your Own\

find the file called main.cs - Right click on this and choose Open With... and choose notepad.

Scroll to the BOTTOM of that file, you'll see a line that says:
exec("handjob.cs");

Create a NEW LINE after this one and paste this:
exec("BasilMod/pack/pack.cs");

Save the file.

Now load up the game and connect to our Sanctuary Server. Once connected you might notice a new loading status message stating it is syncing files. This is Basil Mod Pack auto downloading the mods we have on our server and making sure the ones you have are up to date (don't worry they will always be since our server syncs the files to you).

Message Of The Day Mod

The message of the day mod is simply messages placed in your Local and System chat tabs when you connect to the server, this will help new players find our steam group, TS server, and understand we have rules that must be read/met.

GM Announce Mod

This will be used by GMs to send Announcements to players connected to the server. The announcements will play a sound (bell chimes or fanfair music) to alert you an announcement has been made. The announcement will appear in the top right of your screen (much like those random event pop ups you see (bit by a snake, etc)).

It will look something like this: Announcement Sample[gyazo.com]

NOTE Only GMs can send a message, BUT this mod is enabled for everyone. The default keybind for this is F4 and obviously interferes with the default claim show keybind. To change this, either rebind your show claim keybind
OR
navigate to the file:
{ YOUR PATH TO STEAM }\Steam\steamapps\common\Life is Feudal Your Own\BasilMod\gmannounce

Open the config.cs file in notepad and you'll see the line:
$BasilMod::gmannounce::bind = "F4";

Obviously, modify the F4 to be whatever key you want, say you want ALT+F2 change F4 to "alt f2"

Raven Mod

This is a great way to secretly communicate, but beware, a traveler or bandit could kill the Raven as it flies (sideways flying chicken) and intercept the message and your recipient will never know about the message.

Below is a short image tutorial on how to use this mod... First things first, the default keybind to bring up the Raven Menu is J

Fill out your message and recipient:

Watch as your bird flies!

IF you receive a raven, one will fly to you and automatically pop up a message
Sideways chicken flies at dawn[gyazo.com]

We are just testing the Raven Mod for now, so normal rules still apply, we will gauge this mod as we get more feedback from the members of our community.

[Elktus Daily]

Instaled on another server, tested, used it to track players by following the raven. Ravens are not what they appear.

Yeah Elktus, this was a concern too for us. We are just using them for testing until meeting on saturday. Pretty easy to remove this mod if need be. Also we can dissallow this through the rule system. It's pretty easy to tell if someone is using ravens to track where you are and then using that to their advantage.
