Razer Synapse = Worthless
1. Upon install, bluescreened windows 7. Good job.
2. Has yet to detect my new Death Adder

Agreed. I know it can be hard to get good developers, but Synapse 2.0 is the worst software I have ever installed.
Why the hell do I need to restart my computer just for an update?!? (And why the update in the first place)

I have to unplug and plug back in my BlackWidow Ultimate whenever I need it to be detected.

Had this problem myself a few times after updates, luckily it usually goes away with 2-3 restarts. House of cards. Sick of this tired poor excuse of software.

I joined this group just to agree here. This is some of the worst software that i've had the misfortune to use. i went from a logitech G15 to a blackwidow ultimate and it seems to have been a complete waste of time and money.

Features like:
randomly the enter key acts "stuck" after login from a resume from hibernate (this does so much damage to my work). I have to unplug the keyboard as fast as possible for it to stop.
right now I'm trying to work out how to disable the recording of pauses without having to open the crap software. i use macro keys to help me perform tasks faster. it's not very useful if they are performed slowly or take a long time to setup.
the backlight getting stuck off until i unplug and replug the keyboard and/or restart synapse.
when i first plugged in the keyboard the razer website was down and i couldnt use macros etc because there was no way to get the software.
having to create an online account for a keyboard driver is just dumb. im not ever going to take this keyboard somewhere else. if i do, macros that operate software on my machine being transferred is not useful. i also wouldnt punish anyone i know by installing synapse on their computer. i already hate having it on mine.

I suspect there are firmware problems as well as Synapse being rubbish. Give me the source and i'll fix it myself. I'm interested in keeping my relatively expensive keyboard if i can get around all the dumb software bugs.

Razer synapse isn't worthless, its a great tool if it doesn't play up like yours does.

Synapse is worse than worthless. It takes what is a simple device and turns it into a worthless piece of crap by bundling it with buggy software so they can add worthless features.

Razer synapse adds nothing worthwhile to the device. i am giving away my blackwidow ultimate (to my mum who will just use it as a usb HID) and replacing it with the logitech G710+. I'm sick of the bugs that make this keyboard worthless for macros, and dangerous to leave plugged in. **** you razer. i will continue my cause to keep people from wasting their money on this crap so long as its so broken (i.e. needs synapse).

I have the money to buy nice things but it pisses me off when they dont work how they should. In the mean time i've had to go back to my retired Gen 1 Logitech G15.

It lets me:
easily and quickly record a macro without the pauses.
skip songs with a single keypress
it has a second win key where it should be (not fn)
it has a volume control
it doesnt "stick" the enter key on login
doesnt require an internet connection at any point
the screen is kinda cool but i never use it

talk about a serious upgrade. given that i paid less for it over 7 years ago than i did for my blackwidow ultimate now, you can see why i feel ripped off by razer.

My synapse is working fine, new app for switchblade today, no need to reboot :o

the enter key just got 'stuck' again (its probably happened a dozen times since my first post here). now the lights cant be turned off / changed. it appears that everything the keyboard does is via the awful synapse software which seems to have died. quitting synapse lets me turn off the lights on the keyboard but kills all macro keys. handy. i've no idea if synapse works better for mice. cant think of a reason to install it for a mouse.
logitech G710+ on order now and my mum said the blackwidow ultimate is too noisy for her and it'll be retired to the spare keyboard that i drag out to fix servers or something (you wouldnt bother with drivers or macros for it). what a joke...
