Razer Deathstalker Ultimate, "unofficial" troubleshooting thread.

Hey there folks,
I thought i would make this thread, as there seems to be limited information, on how to fix many of the Deathstalkers "glitches+quirks".

1:power issues,

Many of you have plugged in your keyboard to find that it does not turn-on / function. this can be due to your pc's voltages (how much electricity your motherboard allocates to usb sockets)
an increase to 1.05-1.1 Volts may save you from having to go out and buy an external USB hub.

Disclaimer: please keep in mind you can damage your computers components+ peripherals by changing BIOS settings. (If you do not know what you are doing.) That being said, I take no responsibility if you should manage to fry your gear/burn your house down.

2:POST issue.

I am experiencing this problem. and i have not yet found a solution.

The problem lies with the motherboard/s it seems it takes the deathstalker longer to initialize, during post, and results in a "no keyboard connected" error.

In order to sucessfully boot my computer, i must have my old keyboard plugged in.. and plug in the deathstalker after windows has booted.

It is possible the problem lies in legacy USB 1.0/1.1 compatibility.


3:Youtube videos not loading.

the youtube app relies on flash, more precisely, on flash being installed on internet explorer.
simply open up internet explorer, head on over to adobe.com and download flash. after that the youtube app should work like a charm.

I will edit, and update this post, when i have more info. feel free to add to the discussion.

Lol came back home and my numpad disappeared off my screen on my keyboard

I also can't 3finger swipe. When the computer boots I have to manually open the app manager just to see any apps at all.

make sure under msconfig ( type run then msconfig ) under the startup tab. That razer synapse is ticked. If you have an issue like mine where sometimes synapse crash on start up. I just leave it unticket then start the program after I have logged in, find it less of a hassle then to restart the synapse services manually.

Thanks Shadow. I was able to get it to run the apps right away after a system restore and installation again.

But still no 3 finger swipe. I have a feeling its my laptops default touchpad synaptics drivers fighting with razers touchpad drivers.

To be honest at times I do battle a bit thats why (don't power press the thing) I make sure my fingers are touching the screen firmley and make sure I got all the way from right to left.

Hey,
I received this beast today as a gift, and have noticed that there are problems with the steam chat on the keyboard screen itself. it doesn't work :P I'm unsure if there is something I am missing, but if that is the case, I don't know what.
I selected it as one of the macros on the buttons above the screen. But when I press is nothing happens. I have checked my settings on steam itself and it would be allowed if it worked.
Am I doing something wrong, or missing something?

does it show up as a blank screen when you push on the steamchat gui? if so all I can recommend is unistall the app, Then do a reinstall if you haven't tried already. Also i have fixed some keyboard errors by making sure i was on the latest IE, even though I never use IE.

All is well it started working ... I dont know what it was exactly ... Gave the computer another restart and fiddled with settings ... seems fine now :P thanks!

Though do you guys by any chance know how to get to the 'second page' of the adaptive tactile keys? in the settings it states that there is a second page... but for the life of me I dont know how to select it! :P

Adaptive Keys? do you mean when you slide your three fingers across the screen to get the second lay out of keys? Other wise google it or ask Razer support for further info is all that I can suggest.

I ended up returning the damn thing and getting a cheaper more relieable keyboard with mechanical keys XD

i need some help im having the youtube problem but it says adobe is already installed what should i do?

the youtube app, is tied to windows internet explorer.. so you need to install flash on that browser before it will work on the app. if the app still does not function try uninstalling and reinstalling internet explorer plugin.

Alright, so I'm having the same issue with the YouTube/twitch apps (Loading white screen).
I have seen numerous places including here that a quick install of adobe Flash through internet explorer will fix this. Although I am not able to do so. I am running windows 10, and it comes with Internet explorer 11 which has adobe Flash already built in, and will not let me even install a windows 7 internet explorer version for it. Does anyone have any idea on how to either get these apps working without the flash installation, or how to get adobe to install the internet explorer version of Flash?

An answer would be SUPER appreciated since I just got this keyboard as a gift, and I would hate returning it just because I cannot really use it. :/

Other than that I am loving it, and had no other issues.

i would highly recommend returning it.the screen is of low quality and the apps are glitchy. frankly its not a reliable peice of hardware, and you would be much better served with a second monitor.

I have three monitors, and I do agree it is not the best keyboard out there (especially for the price) but I do like the feel of the keys, and I think the espect of the touch screen is very nice. I understand the apps are lacking, and in my situation some of them do not work. I still think the keyboard isn't too bad, and is something I would like to keep if possible. I just don't understand why they would use such a backwards way of implementing flash player into their device, for support of apps. There are much better ways. I just hope someone is able to figure out a way to help me with this issue, if not it's back to Razer with you :(
