Raising The Bar: Redux - FAQ/Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the goal of this mod?
A: We aim to recreate beta concepts we deem interesting or functional enough. We don't want to recreate a specific era or version of the beta, we pick and choose concepts and see what we could reasonably implement.
We also want to put our own spin on the beta, so there will be things in the mod that are our own completely original ideas or our interpretations of existing concepts. Think of the beta as set dressing for our own ideas.

Q: When is the next update/article?
A: We stagger our update articles. This way, you have something to look forward to regularly while we work on things behind the scenes. We generally aim to do an update every quarter.

Q: When is the next release?
A: We are constantly working on the mod, it's growing and evolving every week. Once we have something stable and polished enough, we will release it.

Q: What is a Division?
A: We are splitting up the mod into several parts we call Divisions. Each division will contain smaller chapters that break up the release. Every updated release will include all previous Divisions. Overall, we plan to have seven divisions.

Q: Are you going to put the mod on Steam?
A: We do plan to, far in the future. Once we finish making all the Divisions and we feel that the mod is "final" enough, we would like to put it onto Steam.
It might include Steam exclusive features too. That being said, Valve's opinion of cut-content mods is prickly to say the least, and so in any case, RTBR will be released primarily on ModDB to insure us against a release being held from Steam.

Q: How do I install the mod?
A: Here is a list of instructions you should follow:
1.) Download the latest version of the mod from Moddb.
2.) Unzip the zip file into your sourcemods folder - 7Zip is recommended. Make sure you extract the entire zip rather than dragging the folders out of it. You can find your sourcemods folder in your main Steam install folder, for example:
C:/ Program Files / Steam / steamapps / sourcemods
2a.) If you don't have a sourcemods folder, just create a new folder and name it sourcemods. This must be on the main drive where Steam is installed, not an additional Steam drive.
3.) Install Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer and set it to upcoming.
Open your Steam Library and go to Tools. From there, scroll down and find Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer and install it.
After it's installed, right-click it and go to properties. Go to the Betas tab and set it to 'upcoming'.
4.) Restart Steam.
Now the mod should show up in your Steam Library.

Q: The mod crashes after the Valve intro.
A: Make sure you set your Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer to 'upcoming'.

Q: The mod doesn't show up in my Steam Library.
A: First of all, make sure the mod is installed on your main drive with all other Source games and mods.
Make sure your mod folder is set up similar to this:
C:/ Program Files / Steam / steamapps / sourcemods / RaisingTheBarRedux_Release
Inside of the "RaisingTheBarRedux_Release" folder should be the mod's folders, such as "bin", "cfg", "maps", etc.
The mod should have a "gameinfo.txt" in its main folder. If it doesn't, reinstall it from the zip file.
If it still doesn't show up, restart Steam again or restart your PC.

Q: Are you going to port the mod to Source 2?
A: Nope.

Q: Will you be changing voice actors for any roles?
A: Whilst we continue to work on our choreographed scenes and improve takes, we've made deliberate choices in regards to our voice acting talent and will be sticking by them.

Q: Why are some weapons errors when I type Impulse 101 in the console?
A: In Division 1 releases we removed weapon models for weapons that are not intended to be obtained as part of Division 1's usual progression, and are instead for later Divisions. In future releases, we will be pruning them from the code entirely. If you use the console and run into unintended behaviours, that's on you, not on us.

Q: What roles are RTBR looking for on the team?
A: RTBR can always use competent level designers with an understanding of art passing and gameplay design. Otherwise, we advertise other roles on Twitter and elsewhere as we need them. If you feel you have a skill we could use that we haven't recently advertised for, you're still welcome to DM Kralich/David#0901 on Discord.

Q: What is the team working on next?
A: With the release of the Division 2 Demo, we are now working on tightening up the first six maps and finishing off the rest of Division 2
-A few new enemies along with a new ally, plus iconic set pieces from the cut content
-New weapons to spice up the arsenal and give you more tools to combat the combine
-More music, sound FX, particles, and more!

Q: What’s in each Division?
A: Division One is the introduction and then escape from City 17. Division Two is the canals, Eli Maxwell, and Ravenholm. Division Three is the wasteland, including antlions and the depot. Division Four is the air exchange and a bit of coast. Division Five is the arctic. Division Six is street wars. Division 7 is the citadel.
