Durand-Durand Feb 8, 2015 @ 2:08pm
Probably I should shut down the group, ya?

Is there any kind of organizing around getting people to shoot snooker? have always wanted to try it ...
Gummy Nov 7, 2014 @ 7:23am
I got International Snooker from a bundle, its not great, certainly not worth full price. Its basically a port of an old IOS game, but unfortunately its the only snooker game on Steam.

Pool Nation software updated. 1 line from its changelog:
"Nominating with keyboard and mouse in Straight now works correctly."

Welcome Leon Saber! He's from NE China, near Beijing. 欢迎

Welcome OuttaNowhere! He's from ... outta ... dang, plus for some reason I get confused between our Germans & our Brazilians, for some reason, and then everyone winds up really being from Netherlands ... Outta's 1st club match, beats Durand 1:0!

Hey just joined the group, looking forward to playing lots of Pool Nation with you all. :ss13ok:

What if Durand choked on a cherry seed & died, tonight? This club needs 1 or more co-admins.
Durand-Durand Oct 8, 2014 @ 12:07pm
So, I've inherited administration now also of the Yes-Aimz group. (8-ball, Pro aim, ladders-centric - tho I'm about to rip out the wiring & set a new tone there, to match the tone here ...)

Welcome!

Hello, I am hoping to find some people here to play this game with casually.
Durand-Durand Sep 14, 2014 @ 2:53pm
For handicapping matches, there's a thing I wrote-up - meant always to be a discussion starter -, & then posted in a dank forum corner, sec ... k, found it: 'All Discussions' > 'Straight, Club Play Rules' > 'Permanent Straight Tournament, Rules, Comments on Rules' ... gist of which is, you & your opponent agree on a handicap, then report only wins & losses. Also a place to recommend what kinds of handicaps seem do-able in Pool Nation, Miss Manners' thoughts on asking for handicaps, Johnny Atlas's thoughts on asking for handicaps, etc.

or handicap matches

Might be an idea to twitch stream . Having all members stream to twitch so that others can watch as tournament progresses in round robin style play or for more than 2 player gameplay.

Welcome new member PPPUMP! I grew up in an outer Northern Virginia suburb of DC. In 1970, when you came home from elementary school, you didn't even have Pong yet, you didn't have serial killers, you went back outside and played till dinner, you went into the woods, found a gun-shaped stick, played war, or poked your stick at crawdads in the crick. How could I have known one of those pink crustaceans would, in 2014, beat me 2:1 in Straight pool? I couldn't have known it.

The thread is called Endurance Side-Tournament, Post Results Here. It will warm my loins I mean my heart if anyone else can tell me, Ya man, that thread, it's right there, easy.
Durand-Durand Aug 24, 2014 @ 11:01pm
There is a new thread: (o hell I think I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ this up ...) I tried to make a place where now we can record our Endurance scores (my best is 10:09) - can anyone else find that thread? I am a clueless moderator ...

Davaite igrat!
rhobherto Aug 23, 2014 @ 6:19am
Thank you for the inivite, DD, and this (mostly-accurate) introduction here. All those years of sweater knitting were tedious, but it strengthened my cue bridge, stroke, and masse abilities. Hopefully, some of those Angolan mob guys, if they are on Steam, are too busy playing DOTA to notice your blowing my cover here in this forum. I skipped out on a huge 9-ball loss, barely escaping Compton with my life, and fled to my current [undisclosed] location. If future headlines read, "Angolan Pool Hall Mob Greases Pool Champion," fingers will be pointed in your direction: "He's the guy that dimed out rhobherto!" Anyway, Давайте играть! Rack 'em!
Durand-Durand Aug 22, 2014 @ 6:09pm
Welcome new member RHOBHERTO! born 1937 in La Paz, Bolivia, his family, for their crimes against humanity, a month after his birth, were exiled. They found their refuge in Compton (Los Angeles), California, USA, in a wool-sweater-knitting sweatshop, where rhobherto learned to speak Russian, play chess, and hate the caste system in India. There was in Compton at that time a pool hall run by the Angolan mob. After winning every conceivable real-life title, he has, of course, set his sights on Pool Nation: Straight Pool, introducing himself by beating Durand-Durand 2:0 ...
Durand-Durand Aug 22, 2014 @ 1:39pm
Start conversations about any of it. Here's an example of a convo to start, on "Permanent Tournament, Rules, Comments on Rules": "Too bad there's not a round-robin ..."
