I managed to make use of active pause in Dawn of War 1 (without pause/break).
So I am switching to RTS using active pause.

This is my autohotkey script:

F2::suspend
w::up
a::left
s::down
d::right
space::]
]::SendInput, {Pause}

Just a little explanation on this.
space::pause
Would not work. For whatever reason the game would completely ignore this line for autohotkey.
While ingame space brings a sort of map menu.

So instead I used this line:
]::SendInput, {Pause}

And it did work, but it kept bringing that menu, so it wasn't really usefull.
I decided to rename space to an hotkey that wouldn't bring the menu.
So '']'' is actually a sort of place holder, it simply seems to be an hotkey that is not bound to any function into the game.

Now, when I press space, the game thinks I am pressing ], and does not bring the menu.
The ]::Sendinput etc., is not strictly renaming the hotkey, it's sending a command to the game.
So while I press space the game thinks ], but autohotkey issue the command.
