How are you supposed to play with two keys?
Hi guys.

I've been playing osu for several months now, and I'm at around 230,000 as a rank. I'm pretty comfortable with most 3.5 star maps but I just can't play most 4 stars for one reason: I just cannot alternate which key I press on the keyboard.

It's really annoying me, because there are so many streams or quick combos that I can't beat with one key, but I just cannot play with both. My fingers end up going crazy and I completely lose my focus. I've tried alternating keys with every single note but that just confuses me too. If there's any advantage, it means I can single tap pretty fast. :P

Does anyone have any advice for how to play with two keys on a keyboard? I just can't see how to do it.

try vibrating your fingers on the keyboard when you hit the streams, also don't forget to click those circles to the beat of the song.

Vibrating? You mean just randomly pressing the keys?

And I do try to do it to the beat of the song, but I just can't seem to actually find any 'beat' in streams. They just seem like a pointless string of really fast circles.

Most people have created so many bad habits when it comes to tapping, and most if not all of music theology rings true to a game like osu!

The main tip I want to give which usually applies to 95% or more of players is to understand the difference between hitting and pressing the keys. Try to play osu by significantly reducing the sound that you create by hammering the keys with your fingers, even if you have a mechanical keyboard. Your hand or fingers should never be "bobbing" before pressing keys. I can promise you that this is a good habit and increases accuracy and stamina significantly.

Thanks for the advice. I don't have a mechanical keyboard, but I do tend to smack my finger on my key, making a pretty loud noise. I think it helps me with the beat, but I'll go and try a couple of maps being a bit softer now and see what happens.

Use one finger most of the times. when streams or triples appear, use two.

Just practice, took me like 1 week and i could do those steams on 4-5 star maps easialy, but really depends on the BPM of the map i usually end up overstreaming and that's what you want to look out for since most 4 star maps are pretty slow no mod.

Im pretty bad at streaming because I have really low stamina...
Triple taps are easy for me tho :p
And streams have their own rhythm , maybe u just cant find it. What do I know im just a 6 digit player
"Singletap so much didnt bind a second key" , - 3 digit player

What you could do that has helped me is download some songs that have a crap ton of triples or streams and play with no fail and just keep practing them
