there are top100 players with mouse, you dont need to and just play and play
play maps that are pretty hard but not too hard to improve

definitely, with tablet it's generally easier to improve but yea there are still some cons like shaky aim etc

I got a tablet after about the first month, and I can do decently on it. Recently I decided to try mouse again and it feels great. I think if you really want to enjoy the game you should know how to use every input method. Makes you more well-rounded.

I recommend buying a cheap mouse capable of 2500 dpi adjustments. I have a Fantech X9 Thor Gaming mouse which is cheap reliable and comfortable.
Its mostly preference. People like flyingtuna, angelsim, doomsday are fine with mouse. If you have chance try borrow or buy a tablet and use it for a couple weeks then decide which one is more comfortable. Personally I found tablet allows me to aim a bit faster, and mouse is easier for me to do large cross screen jumps with more precision. Improvement largely come down to practice, but experimenting with new playstyle is always encouraged. It took angelsim a long time to find his current setup, and shige is known for changing his tablet area quite frequently just as references.
