Question about osu tablet

I currently using a huion h430 tablet, never use one before so i was wondering when playing osu, should i hover with the pen or should i make the pen touch the pad surface the whole time?
Which is like whether to hoover it without touching the surface, or to move it like a real pen on the surface the whole time

you could put your mouse pad over your tablet then drag, that way you can drag and hover at the same time without damaging your tablet surface

Is that really a thing? I never seen someone use a mousepad as a cover before

You could also put some custom size tempered glass screen protector over it. But is it so important to you?

You can also put paper on your tablet if you drag so it doesn't scratch or damage the tablet too much
