Having Problems with MO2 and Archive Invalidation
So, I'm currently I'm trying to mod Fallout 3. I'm using Mod Organiser 2 and most mods work fine. However, mods that change textures either aren't showing up or don't work correctly. This has lead me to believe that there is a problem with Archive Invalidation.

Whenever I activate Automatic Archive Invalidation through MO2, its just automatically turns itself off once I launch the game. On top of that, changes I make to my ini files through the ini editor don't save and are reverted. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hello there.

I have not modded FO3 with MO2. I passed the question forward. It might take a moment to get a reply.

I got a reply form AL.

It sounds to me like the settings are getting reverted by the game launcher or something else. He should make sure he is on the latest version of Mo2 and he should try starting the game from the game.exe instead of the launcher if he isn't already. Also he should check that he is looking at the correct ini files since he might be looking at the games ones instead of the profile ones. If he can't determine what is reverting the INIs he could try setting them to readonly after editing them.

Are you Discord? If nothing above helps, then MO2 has it's own MO2Devs server. I can drop an invite for you. If they did something wrong with FO3, then your case could help them to solve it.
Hi, thank you very much for the help. I was already doing all of the suggestions recommended to no avail. However, I haven't yet tried setting the ini files to read only. Would you possibly know how to do this?

Also, I am on discord so I would appreciate an invite to the server just in case the problems I'm experiencing aren't through fault of my own. (Though they likely are.)

Thanks again!

Right-click the file. Option to set it read only is at General tab of Properties.

Here is the link to MO2Devs Discord. I am poking around there as well.

Generally speaking, this group is very silent these days. Nexus has also moved to Discord. You might want to jump there as well.

If you are jumping around Skyrim, Skyrim SE or Fallout 4, then Coffee Room has also it's own Discord page, where MO2 has it's own thread.

In short, if you encounter problems, then there is help to be found. In either from Steam game hub discussions or Discord.

Just these Steam groups that have grown silent.
Thanks so much. I'm sure you'll have saved me a lot of headache. (:
