Cannot stay connected to my server
I managed to get the config files to have better heads and to forward my ports, as well as looking through a couple dozen of the help discussions on this very page to help me get this far. But I am stuck on this. Every time I start a server, then log in as my character, the character I created turns into the default male dark elf and then the game crashes with a message saying "connection lost" and then my tes3-mp-server.exe crashes as well.

Here is what the window said in tes3-mp-server.exe

This is the log of your TES3MP client.

Can I ask you to look in My Documents\My Games\OpenMW and find the latest log that starts with "tes3mp-server"?

It looks like there's an error in your journal data. Did you try changing your journal manually at some point? If you have a shared journal on your server, you should send us your world.json; if you don't, you should send us Undra Il.json.

I haven't gotten to do anything other than character creation actually.

However, in world.json, I changed "journal":[], to "journal":[true],

Is that not the right way to do that in that file?

No, that's not the right way to do it.
The world.json is used to store content, it saves journal stage IDs under that field that you edited.
If you want to enable or disable journal sync, you do it in config.lua.

I suggest your revert the change you made and try again.

Also, can you check that you actually put the same password in both tes3mp-server-default.cfg and tes3mp-client-default cfg?

Yes, I did use the same password in both. Even tried them both without a password to the same effect. I will use the default world.json and see if that works. Thanks! :)

I'll post again tomorrow to say whether it worked

Awesome, it works perfectly now :)

Thank you so much!

While I'm here, the default spawn cell for new characters is "-3, -2"

How would I type it if I wanted new players to spawn at a specific location? Seyda Neen for example.

Go to your desired location with your character and log out. You can then open up your character file in server/data/player and copy-paste the location from there to the place in server/scripts/config.lua where you set the spawn points of new players.
