Help with set up??
Hello!

I know this is a frequently asked question, but how do I get my server to work? I just want to play with my brother. Trust me, I looked up everything online, and everyhting should work but it doesn't. I did my port forwarding to 25565 with my IPv4 address and set it with TCP protocol.
I made sure my localAdress was 0.0.0.0 and the destinationadress to locoalhost for my computer so I can play. When I open the server list and click on mine, the connect button is greyed out and the ping is 999. If I use tes3mp.exe, it'll work fine.
Now for my brother's laptop, I used the server list and I would still get the connect greyed out and the ping is 999. So, I made sure his destinationadress was my IPv4 address, and used the tes3mp.exe, and it will open, but then I get an error saying that the client or server is outdated, but I made sure we both had 6.1.
Sorry for the long and horrible run on sentences, but I'm furious that I can't solve this problem. Please someone help me! >o<

Thank you!

Try the UDP protocol instead of the TCP one.

Keep it on UDP if you want your server to potentially be connectable from the server browser.

Regardless, it sounds like your brother is in your LAN, and you don't need to actually do any port forwarding while that remains the case.

Let's look into your real problem, which is the version mismatch. Can you start up tes3mp-server.exe on both computers and take screenshots of the version and commit hash it displays at the very top of the console window?

That still doesn't explain the version mismatch. Are you still getting that?
