Starting a Server, but having issues.
So I seem to be able to start a server, I edited the .cfg with notepad++. My friends find my server with me in it, yet it says the ping is 999. How do i get my server up and running? Thanks.

Have you forwarded your port?
JDzilla Aug 25, 2017 @ 6:31am
Yeah 25565, it has udp and tcp active, does that matter? I know when I started a COD WAW server it only wanted TCP.

Have you allowed tes3mp-server through your firewall?
JDzilla Aug 25, 2017 @ 4:51pm

Could I use a program called hamachi?
Ghost Aug 26, 2017 @ 12:05am
You can use Hamachi, but you will have to make some minor edits.

In your 'tes3mp-server-default.cfg' under the [MasterServer] heading, you will need to change 'enabled = true' to 'enabled = false'
You will also have to set your localAddress to your hamachi ip.

In your 'tes3mp-client-default.cfg' and make the destinationAddress your hamachi ip. Anyone attempting you want to join your server will have to do the same.

Couple things of note, you will need hamachi turned on, not just installed, to run or join the server with hamachi, and people you want to join will need to be a part of your hamachi network.
You will also need to use the 'tes3mp.exe' instead of the server browser.

I appreciate your advice! Haven't had my friends do it yet, however, just a quick question. Will my friends just use the tes3mp.exe instead of using the server browser as well?

Also, will I still have to launch tes3-server.exe?
JDzilla Aug 26, 2017 @ 2:41pm
Whenever I launch the game it says, "Either the IP address is wrong or a firewall on either system is blocking UDP packets on the port you have chosen"

Your friends should use the tes3mp.exe and you will still have to launch with the tes3mp-server.exe.

If you're using hamachi, check that the destinationAddress in the tes3mp-client-default.cfg and the localAddress in the tes3mp-server-default.cfg use the hamachi IP.

For example: 'destinationAddress = 25.44.168.86'

Check for typing mistakes such as using , instead of .

I'd also suggest changing the server name from the default if you haven't already.

Remember that hamachi needs to be 'powered on'. With hamachi open, there should be a green dot/ball/circle next to your network name and next to each of your friends names.
