Finally tried Plunder Panic with 11 controllers locally!
Very fun game, even works with 12 controllers (i have tried), lots of strategies to win. I love that everyone does not have the same role by default!

At first I tought that this was probalby a cheap Killer Queen Black Knock off, but I was completely wrong, some in my group even prefered this to KQB. And it has easier controls for beginners and supports more players.

Just had 10 friends over for gaming party today and finally got to try Plunder Panic with a almost full 11 player each with they're own dedicated Xbox controllers!

Really fun, we all had a blast, nobody else had played it before except me, but everyone seemed to enjoy it a lot.
Part of the fun was figuring out how the game worked as we played and all the win conditions etc.

Fantastic pixel art I must say! Love they music and the retro filter on the narrator. The controls feels smooth and responsive, there is always so much fun to look at in the middle of the match.

I used both a wireless Xbox one PC dongle and a 360 PC dongle dongle to make it work, no cable! ("XB one/series dongle" has a eight player limit and the "360 dongle" four controller limit, so 12 total) Worked without a hitch.

The 360 Dongle is hard to come by nowadays so If you have more than 8 Series controllers you can probably make 4 of them work with Bluetooth as long as the other 8 are connected with the 2.4Ghz dongle. (Haven't tested the stability with so many BT controllers tho.)

I have ordered more controllers so next time we might try getting full 12 players!

We also finally tried Runbow with a full 9 Players, really fun party game for large groups.
I wish there was more fun party games with support for more than 8 players!

We tried Splody with 11 controllers, but the didn't register every controller, so I might have to troubleshoot that next time!

Great info, I haven't tried Plunder Panic yet, but that looks like a fun one!

Splody should work fine with any number of controllers with no problem in any circumstances (unless Steam Input is overriding things and getting in the way again... possibly just disabling Steam Input would do the trick), so that surprises me a bit that it didn't register every one. I've actually used it more in recent years just to test that all my controllers are working before trying other games more than playing it, hah! If you figure out what's wrong or have any details, please share! (I'm the developer of Splody.) Also feel free to reach out here or on Discord (@jimb.ly), I'd love to here how it goes and what the problem might be.

Thanks, yeah I can guaranty that Plunder panic will be a hit in large gaming groups with many players!

Yeah I have no dubt I can get splody to work, but in the middle of the party with 10 people waiting for me I decided to just go to the next game instead of using time to troubleshoot, Its probablt steam input. Will fix it next gaming party! Looks fun, we have tried bomberman R2, but that has a 8 player limit.

Will keep the group updated when we have tried it.

Neat! I need to try Plunder Panic with a large group of players.

I completed the campaign and enjoyed it. Doing so also unlocks modifiers so you can gradually introduce one win condition at a time, although from your experience it doesn’t seem necessary.

I remember one thing that bugged me when playing. When putting the sword away or taking it out, the inputs were blocked while the animation played. This made the game feel unresponsive and quite often confused me as to whether or not the button press to put away/take out the sword had registered, causing me to press it multiple times leaving me even more open to attack. Did you experience the same thing?

You can also unlock modifiers by getting enough points, at first it seemed to have to many win conditions, but since we can have them only being able to trigger once its not that confusing, and we adjusted to it after a little while, im surprised that it wasn't more confusing to my group, they seemed to catch on pretty quick.

I can put out the sword and re equip it while jumping and moving, when I learned that trick I became much more effective. Having so many players at once there need to be a few mechanic to slow things down, but yeah it should be more clear when you equip it. I don't think I pressed it to many times unless I lost control of who I was.

I have shared my experience on the devs discord, they seemed pleased that it worked well with my setup and group. I didn't expect my group to like it even more than Killer Queen Black, but it looked like that was the case for some.
I asked the devs if they can implement a "tag system" to make teams fair when its uneven split without needing to add Ai.

I'm surprised that this game is not more popular, its cheap, has cross-play and even friend pass and is fun as heck, probably the perfect game for streamers to play with viewers.

After some trail and error I figured out how to make 11 controllers work, settings for controller in this title have to be set to "enable steam input"

Not "use default settings" or "disable steam input"

Will definantly try Splody next gaming party at my apartment now!
