Fluent Design?
A couple of months ago, Microsoft introduced their new Fluent design language (more info here: microsoft.com/design/fluent ). Will a future update to Metro include elements from this design language?

It might be possible only with some parts but overall it depends on what valve wants to make.

I was thinking about that too. The Metro UI is getting a bit outdated on recent Windows 10 releases in favor of Fluent UI — and they are rolling out with new icons too for the Windows 11 operating system.

I understand that the new ui of windows might come at some point but the decision of updating the ui will be left to the author of the skin. The unofficial patch will continue to deliver hotfixes only.

Seems like development is only happening with the unofficial patch now. I tried that and in some ways found it to be worse. Plus they say it's not a standalone skin and has to be used with the Metro skin.

Metro is still way better than Steam's terrible default, but when Windows 11 comes along I can see an opportunity for someone to dethrone Metro as the best Steam skin. That's just how software is: always changing, and if you snooze, you lose.
