Hey. I'm trying to get Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries to run on full screen but it's hard locked at 800x600. I need some help trying to get it to run full screen, for some strange reason the auto config keeps reverting everytime it's closed, and even if I leave it open, the changes dont apply.

My friend and I played on Hamachi ( 1v1s). Just make sure neither of you have Upnp enabled in your router, and use the lan option in-game to find lobby.

Fixed it. Ran all 3 hotfixes in order to install to a blank folder, then placed the files into the game install.

imported custom variants from last 10 yrs but get a crash when i access them from main menu but fine from instant action. mektek mechs arent available past victor to z in single player. map from clan coyote works and there a great resource. for multi its clancoyote and game ranger -have not done that yet. single player mis from mechreg .org failed but there is a mappack out there with sp-nova-op missions that are voiced and amazing minus the A.I. getting stuck on canyon walls, 7 total. this is just an update on my winxp, next i might try a server at home with ethernet crossover but on a win 10 laptop with a gtx960 4gb, so i can throw bots into server and practice on new maps alone.

Own this game twice over and my recent disc got shattered in a bad optical drive so i'm glad i found a download https://www.myabandonware.com/game/mechwarrior-4-mercenaries-3ak went for the 2gbMEKTEK VERSION AT BOTTOM OF PAGE. had older installs and running on a xp machine so i had to go here to edit the registry http://gamingsession.taterunino.net/2010/05/01/how-to-get-and-install-the-mektek-mechwarrior-4-mercenaries-release-and-get-it-to-actually-work/ running well last hour, master server looks dead.

now all i have to do is move my pilots,variants and user missions to the aprop folders and i should be good and will update on success level. have a few sim stations at home and this one is XP O.S., H.O.T.A.S. , 560 ti card to tv mon so it scales to fit and NVIDEA control panel can be used for extra post smoothies. admit this is the first time i got this working. had to fire up a KODIAK immediately and now i'm a GHOST BEAR CLANNER. the battle armor is ridiculous potent at 20tons and will skip that but nice to see ELEMENTALS.

when mercs 5 was announced seems like maybe there was pressure to shutdown downloads , so who knows how long this will last. i had hoped that the mektekers had fixed the problem of friendly A.I. not using jump jets atleast in instant action- but no. not sure how much of this new content ties into campaign. ouch! forgot how loud this old hardware was compared to my new fab. note i have no experience running this on newer OS and don't plan to cuz i'm crazy like that, unless i'm crazy enough to think i could really put together a MEKTEK lan party.
QUESTION does this steam group ever put together any multiplayer?

New here, no clue what I am doing to get this game. But its been more than a decade I feel like, and I absolutely loved this game. Would love to play with a group of people who also enjoy it!

I know of a struggling group of guys who still have 20-30 strong doing league play and everything on Mercenaries, they seem to be a lot of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun, they also know everything and anything on how to make it work on the newer systems since they have been playing this for 20-45 years (they're old but awesome) if anybody wants to join their group just go here on their League's website: http://btstarleague.webs.com/ or just message me here on steam and ill help as much as i can because i want to revive this group badly!

Hi people, used to play this in my youth and recently bought a copy from eBay. Can't wait to get started again! Used to be an in-fighter,I liked getting in real close so had a mech with full rotation of the torso. Anybody remember what that mech is called?

I fixed it, turns out webroot was deleting it because it thought it was malware

for some reason i cant use MW4-Mercs because I cant find the MW4-Mercs.exe and I downloaded the game from the MXC app. Why???
