Arena Characters Not Appearing?

I don't know if this is just a me thing but with the new update my 3 other arena characters are completely gone from the menu, (I'm aware that this can happen, so I backed up my 3 of my characters earlier this month) So I went to file explorer and located the arena mode folder only to find my 3 arena characters still there, I was confused but decided to move my 3 characters to my desktop and move the backups I have of 2 of them into the folder but when I launched the game nothing is there still, despite me having put the .car files back into the folder. (I made another character as well as soon as I saw the new update and he appears fine on the menu and in the folder, its just my 2 older characters) Was there a change in the way the characters are stored or something?

The issue isn't in the way the characters are stored, but in the character information itself-- this newest build is working with a lot of new systems in place, and as a result old Arena characters will, unfortunately, be incompatible. This should be the last time that save files are truly wiped, but there's no way to recover them right now.

In short, the game will only display characters with 'valid' character files, and characters from previous versions are not considered valid by this version. Similarly, characters made after this update will not show up in an earlier build of the game.

Thanks for answering my man, I'm a bit bummed out though I had a fully maxed out character, but at least it hopefully won't happen again

Don't get too attached to any arena characters you make currently, there is 100% gonna be another save wipe when the arena rework gets released.
