You have to start your local Client once (with subscribed mods!)
It will install the Mods locally.

After that, you can Upload the Mods with your FTP Client...
From HDD:\LOCALSTEAMDIR\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods
To REMOTEARKDIR/serverfiles/ShooterGame/Content/Mods

Upload all and everthing!

After that, add to GameUserSettings.ini the IDs from the Mods
Example: ActiveMods=609380111,543859212,564895376,531396658,554678442,510590313

Now, Start the Server ;)

And YES... you have to do the complete "Sh1t" for every Mod-Update! I prefer the Sync functionality in the FTP Client ;)

Sorry for the necro, but this is not working for me. Anything that would prevent the server from using the mods? A setting in either Game.ini or GameUserSettings.ini? Something in the lgsm arkserver script ?

Something isn't working.

That Info is deprecated!

New:
* Windows & Linux Dedicated Servers now support automatic mod download/installation/updating! Just add "-automanagedmods" to your launch commandline and it will do so before the server launches (note for Maps this will not work unless you're specifying the Workshop ID to load a Mod Map). On Linux Servers, you need to run this script (included with the ARK dedicated server files) once to install SteamCMD: \SteamCMDInstall.sh

You can also specify a manual list of extra Steam Workshop
Mods/Maps/TC ID's to download/install/update in your Game.ini via (with
the commandline as normal to actually use them in-game), example:

[ModInstaller]
ModIDS=680481868
ModIDS=682394267
ModIDS=714672786

Is it one or the other? GameUserSettings.ini ActiveMods= OR Game.ini [ModInstaller] ???

Where did you find this documented? I don't see it anywhere but from you.

hi, does the switch above make it download mod and then restart it self without the need of anyone doing it (using cron or something), or does it need someone to restart the server when theres a mod update?
DarthDestroyer Apr 18, 2017 @ 12:27pm
yes and no!

you have to restart the server by yourself at every mod-update...
it will only download and insert the mods at the next startup!

all info afaik, im a bit outdated because i host a vanilla for now - because of that -.-
