Then if you wanna input commands to your server, use Rusty, like everybody.
Maybe you should read this to understand how to use LGSM for Rust, and more globally how to administrate a Rust server properly. http://oxidemod.org/threads/setting-up-a-rust-server-with-linux-and-lgsm.16528/
LGSM uses Tmux, which is similar to Screen. You can send commands to it directly too.
But Rust doesn't offer a console, regardless of you using Screen or Tmux... So your point is invalid.
