[Solved] Disk Space usage for updates

So I got a server up and running, but with some old version appearantly (update tells me that).

The VM has 25 gbs of space, the first install took roughly 12 gb, linux told me I have 63 % of space used.

Now the issue is,that since the update it somehow says I'm at 99% full.

Does the Server Update re-download all files and overwrite them or do I have a different error?

Also, how much should I expand my VM to be safe in the future ?

Updates shouldn't add to the existing files, just replaces them.

Are you sure you're not saving .dem files or a lot of logs? Try looking (closely) at the output of:

du -h --max-depth 3 ~/

Find the directory that's the biggest offender and see what is taking up all of the space.

And to also add to this, all I did was command ./csgoserver update

I wish you would have run the command as indicated, it makes it easier to pinpoint where the cruft is when it's human-readable (the "-h" flag makes it easy to search for "[0-9]G", showing immediately where the Gigs of data reside) and pruned to 3 levels deep (--max-depth 3).

Nonetheless, it looks like you have 10G of data in your steamapps/Downloading directory that isn't normal. Mine is empty.

I recently added new functions to clear some motr logs from csgo.
They can take up to several GB after a few months.
Try ./csgoserver update-functions
Then restart your server and see if it clears logs.

./csgoserver uninstall

would likely come in handy.

Now it works, for some weird weird reason, at least it can update.

I didn't really do anything to the main script, all I did was enter my authkey, steam username/pw and thats it :/

Means
1) You have changed the gamename variable

If I add ANYTHING to the workshop command part except my Key, I simply cant connect anymore.

> You don't need to enter your steam username/pw. But you need to enter your SteamAPI for the workshop thing to work.

Maybe it fails with the workshop because you're out of space again.
