[SOLVED] Don't Starve Together Server Install Failing, (0x2) after update job
I'm trying to install this server using the dstserver script on CentOS 7. It runs fine, but I can't seem to have SteamCMD actually download the server. Both the script and me doing it manually in SteamCMD are failing by having many Update State (0x3) reconfiguring and ending with Error! App '343050' state is 0x2 after update job.

Any ideas as to what I screwed up?

Would you be able to post Steam/logs/content_log.txt online somewhere and post a link to it?

I posted the log here. Let me know if Pastebin is not ideal. Thanks for the quick reply!

It would appear as if your upstream comcast caching service for steam is hoarked.

cdn.comcast.cs.steampowered.com allows you to connect, but never provides you with any content. This is a simple http connection that's being established okay, but then not delivering any content.

Can you see if there's a "nag" page at that host when you bring it up in your browser? Something that's asking you for credentials or something?

I get a simple "authorization denied" page, which isn't unexpected as I'm not behind comcast. But if you get the same thing, then that might be the crux of your problem.

I also see "authorization denied" when I go to it on my laptop (Windows 7). I'm unsure how to check it on the server. I don't have a desktop environment installed, therefore no browser.

I did try and ping it, but it just returns "unknown host"

You're right in that something is wrong with that connection. After you gave me some new keywords to Google, I stumbled upon this: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/412446292762583371/

I simply edited /etc/resolv.conf to point to Google's DNS 8.8.8.8, and it all worked out!

Thanks!

So it was a DNS issue. :)

I'll add that to the wiki :)
