I've actually started playing again on a server I found randomly. Been having fun with it so far.

Anyone still playing into 2020?

( PAge 2) Other games I've been looking into are The Forest, 7 Days to Die, and Rust. They are all in alpha stages as well. The Forest is total horror fest with mutant hordes, and the building aspect isnt real great. Its more survival based, but it looks pretty cool (Google some trailers if you've never seen this one). The same with rust, except not as horror based, although they have zombies. & days to die looks like the most promising. Its horror based as well. It reminds me of minecraft meets Walking dead, but it seems to have much more of the building aspect than the other games. I might have to buy that one.

Hey everyone. Its been a long time. I've been looking into minecraft alternative games, and I'd like to know if any of you have done the same, and what you've found. Theres one called Planetscubed that is very minecrafty, but its only in prototype mode now. I've also been playing a demo of Planet Explorers. Its in Alpha. You are one of several survivors on a crash landed spaceship on another planet. You can build and craft, hunt alien beasts, and discover alien technology, so its similar to tekkit. Mining is real slow going, and its not 'blocky.' The problem is, the controls are God-awfully terrible, so Im holidng off until they do something about it.

Just wondering, is anyone interested in playing a Better Than Wolves server? I've had my running for 6 months or so and I was planning on starting another server with more hardcore options enabled. Wanted to know if any of you guys would be interested :)

A friend of mine and I have started a new minecraft server. We're a bit inexperienced but are looking for some people to play with us. It's only a 10 slot server for now but we'll expand if we get enough people. It's an FTB based server running the Mindcrack pack so you'll need to download the client from feed-the-beast.com . FTB is similar to Tekkit but the mods contained within are more up to date and this modpack is actually supported by the individual mod developers. ok, what was happening is tekkit was dropping you in at 1073 150 of the end instead of 0,0 of the end. I created an end portal at /spawn that drops you into the end "island" best fix I can do for now, seems to be a bug with tekkit.

Its @ 1073, 150. I dont remember if its a safe drop or not, so be warned, and thank you.

Well, we went to the End a couple weeks ago. It wasnt there... Just an obsidan platform in the void. I just wanted some endstone :(

I had it down today for maybe 30 min for a reboot, and a full disk defrag, but just double checked and its back up and working normally now.

Anyone know what's up with the server? It seemed fine the last time I looked in on it yesterday, but today I can't log in or get to the dynmap.

its running Tekkit 3.1 You need their installer/package. this is not Regular minecraft

Umm, the server is outdated (1.3). I might have to downgrade if I want to play the server... xD

Couple items. Please do not use Crystal Chests, Use Diamond. The Crystal ones cause lag server side. Auto crafting table machines, Please do not leave machines running as they too cause lag. Its fine if your there running things but dont leave em churning when you log off.

past that, The server has been fairly happy with Tekkit

ok, Ive whitelisted the server now and reduced permissions so that you can pretty much do anything you want. Less overhead and since its all trusted people its all good.

However, certain tekkit items can cause grief. so Lets be careful when using Quarry's and items like that, Mining lasers etc etc.

I am so super excited about a Dorsil server! Zegoldfish said he logged on but had the limitations as well. I don't have tekkit yet, but should soon. So how does a tekkit server differ from a regular one??

yup its intended that way. I dont have it whitelisted, so I had to restrict people from interacting with the world. you two have world permissions now.

Lyzzie and I could connect fine; problem was that we couldn't open the chest to get a boat, open the door to swim, or do anything at all. ;( Either way, it feels good to be "home".

this way you can see if you got tekkit installed correctly. If you can connect its working =)
