Introduction to the game [ITRO]
-------------------------------

Katawa Shoujo is a visual novel developed by Four Leaf Studios.
The story is presented in standard visual novel format; read the story
until you are given a choice. The choices you make affect how the
rest of the story plays out and what ending you will receive.
Katawa Shoujo is a hentai game, but the adult content can be skipped
by selecting the appropriate option in the menu.

The full game can be downloaded at www.katawa-shoujo.com for free.
The complete version is currently only available in English, but the demo
has multiple languages available and the full version will likely follow
suit in the future. A full manual is included with the downloads, which
explains all controls and functions in the game.

Main Menu, Options and Secrets [MMOS]

After starting the game, the main menu will be displayed.

1. Start: Starts a new game.
2. Load: Loads a previously saved game. You can also delete saved games.
3. Extras: Listen to game music, CG images, scenes, and movies you have
seen or heard in-game previously.
4. Options: Self explantory. You can also change the language (when available)
or turn off the adult content from here.
5. Quit: Exits the game.

As you progress through the game and along each character's path, a new
drawing will appear on the main menu every time you reach a new act with
each character.

About 100% Completion [A100]
------------------------------

Due to the sheer amount of CGs and scenes in the game, following
only the good paths for each character will not result in obtaining all of
the unlockables in the Extras menu. After each path, there will be a
"Filling In the Blanks" section, which details how to get the missing scenes
and CGs for a character if they are not unlocked at any other point
in the game.

If you are returning to a specific scene to choose a different choice
(for example, to get a new scene or CG), you MUST load a saved game and
proceed from there. If you select the relevant scene from the Extras menu,
you will be sent back to the menu as soon as the scene is over, regardless
of whether or not you were able to make a choice during that scene.

It is highly recommended to save at every choice that appears, for completion
purposes and just in case you make a mistake. When making a different choice
according to the FItB section, assume that all previous choices up to that point
were according to the guide choices. There is no definite path order that you
must complete, and your actions on one path will not affect what happens on
another.

Character Bios [CBIO]
------------------------------

A more in-depth bio for each character can be found on the
main Katawa Shoujo site.

Hisao Nakai: The main character. Diagnosed with arrhythmia, he struggles
to adapt to his new life and school.

Emi Ibarazaki: A very energetic girl with prosthetic legs who is the star
of the track team. Friends with Rin.

Rin Tezuka: A strange girl with no arms, she nonetheless learned
how to live and paint using only her mouth and feet. Goes off
on strange conversations sometimes.

Hanako Ikezawa: A very shy and timid girl with extensive burns
on one side of her body. Enjoys reading, and is nearly
inseperable from Lilly.

Lilly Satou: A very polite and responsible girl who, despite
being blind, is a class representative and acts as a mother
figure to some students. Enjoys drinking tea with Hanako.

Shizune Hakamichi: A fiercely competitive girl who leads the Student
Council. Being deaf and mute, she relies on Misha to translate for her.
Has a good heart, and is one of Hisao's first friends at Yamaku.

Shiina "Misha" Mikado: Misha is carefree, very loud spoken, bubbly,
and doesn't seem to mind the stares she elicits. Usually seen with
Shizune to translate, and also assists on the Student Council.

Kenji Setou: Kenji lives in a dorm near Hisao, and has very bad
vision even with his glasses. A loner, and very paranoid
about women.

The Nurse: A young man who acts as the head nurse of Yamaku.
Younger than may be expected, and is loved by the students for
his jovial nature. Despite this, he takes his job very seriously.

Akio Mutou: The homeroom and science teacher of Hisao's class.
Thinks his lectures are more interesting than they really are,
but cares deeply for his students.

Yuuko Shirakawa: A very clumsy librarian for Yamako who
also holds a job at a local cafe to save for university.
Despite her physical carelessness, can be surprisingly
insightful for helping others with their problems.

Akira Satou: Lilly's sister. Currently a businesswoman and very busy,
but spends time with Lilly and occasionally Hanako when given an opportunity.
Unlike Lilly, she is not blind.

Hanako's Path

Act 2:
Chess and Slides - When asked to help out in the council, choose
"I've done enough work for the council already.".

Act 4:
Misstep - At the end of Act 3, choose "How about we call it a day?". Then,
in Act 4, choose "Agree with Lilly". Also unlocks the final CG. This is
also Hanako's bad ending.

Cut Petals - When on the phone, select "Trust my own judgment". This leads
to Hanako's neutral ending.

Lilly's Path

-Yeah, of course.
-Ask about the library.
-She has a point. Attack aggressively!
-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.
-She was cute.
-Go talk with Hanako.

Filling in the blanks: Surprisingly, you should have a complete CG
and scene collection after Lilly's path. If you choose to "Drop the subject"
at the final choice, you will receive her neutral ending.

Shizune's Path

-She has a point. Attack aggressively!
-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.

-Wait for Shizune and Misha to come to a decision.

Filling in the blanks: You will be missing three scenes and three CGs.

Nothing complicated here, just choose to "Comfort Misha" instead of "Refuse"
at the final choice to unlock all remaining scenes and CGs, as well as
Shizune's bad ending.

Emi's Path

Act 3:
Instant Replay - At the final choice, choose to "Go after her". You will
get another choice: choose to "Downplay the issue" to get the bad ending,
and choose "Give in and let Misha know" to get the final CG and an alternate
way to get back to the good ending.

Rin's Path

Act 3:
BADAAN! - Choose "I think you'd be a big hit" instead of "It isn't
like you at all to hesitate like this".

Shards of Ire - Choose "Then explain" instead of "I need to understand".
This is Rin's bad ending.

Act 4:
Wavelength- Choose "But aren't you happy people are interested in
your paintings?" at the final choice. This will unlock the remaining
three scenes and CG. This is Rin's neutral ending.

Kenji's Path

If you have followed the choices above for each path and gotten every ending,
you will still be missing two scenes in Act 1 as well as two CGs.

To unlock the final scenes and CGs, make these choices in Act 1:

-Yeah, of course.
-Ask about Shizune's deafness.
-She has a point. Attack aggressively!
-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.
-She was cute.
-Wait for Shizune and Misha to come to a decision.
-Yes.
-Don't drag me into this! I've done my part!
-Go for it.
-Yeah, I sure was having fun fun fun at the nurse's office.

This is Act 1's bad ending, and you will unlock the first CG on this path.
The final CG is unlocked by viewing every ending for each girl, as well as
this final Act 1 bad ending.
