Because we're high on thyme...or some other 'herb'.

This announcement would seem selfish to make in the circumstances, and I would fully agree, that it is me seeking to make closure for myself on this more than anything else. Nevertheless, I will post it anyway.

As the leap day started this year, I learnt to my utter shock that my best MouseHunt friend and co-admin of this group, Jyazen, had passed away unexpectedly 4 months prior. Other communities had been aware of it for a while, but I was under my usual rock all this time.

Though I hadn't really spoken to him for a long time this wasn't due to intentionally ignoring him or anything. By nature I am a very reclusive individual, so if there's anyone to blame for me not keeping up interactions much - it's me.

Jyazen was always a lot of fun to chat to, back in the day. We'd talk not just about MouseHunt but also about other things, even Steam things back in the day. He was very kind and gave his time to chat, and I see that he was also very dedicated in what he devoted his time to (appearing to be fondly remembered for his involvement in editing Overgeared).

I set up this group way back because I wanted to test the curator feature, and he was the first choice of person who I instantly thought to invite on board. Although the bulk of the curations are mine, I definitely pushed him to get a few written up. They were written with a charm that I could not possibly hope to emulate within my lifetime. The group name was not just a pun on "just in time", it was also a pun that related to the fact that both of us shared the same first name.

Jya, may you rest in peace and hopefully you are catching a lot of Richard the Rich mice in the afterlife.

Moving forward, I do not know whether I will continue curating for this group. There are a few curations I wrote up since his passing which I will leave up, but it is very possible I may permanently abandon curating here for good and leave this up as a relic, and to preserve his small doses of writing.
