What happened to Hongfire?

I noticed the site started redirecting a couple months back, but thought maybe it was an issue with the site or under some sort of maintenance, but now that it's still not fixed and I've read rumors of it just dead, is it true? is Hongfire Officially gone? If so, why exactly? I know people have assumptions, just curious if there was ever a real reason. I did enjoy returning to browse or the old Flash Chat, when it was up!
