only asking : the streaming run from big picture too ? i'm use windows XP at my htpc, so i cannot run big picture to test here...
Obviously. I know that, but I don't want to have to go into Steam to start streaming a game.
Here's a screenshot of my current setup; http://puu.sh/91wPc.jpg
With this, I can start any local game that is in Steam just by pressing A on my 360 controller, it goes straight to the game no problem.
But currently you can't make a shortcut to launch a streamed game, it'll ask to install in Steam instead. As for non-Steam games, you don't even get the choice of creating a shortcut.
I don't think there's anyway to do this currently, except maybe with some AHK script, but that would be kind of messy, so I just start Big Picture from XBMC for now and launch streamed games from there, but it's kind of a roundabout way of doing it.
I'm pretty sure it would be easy for Valve to fix this.
Edit: Still can't create shortcuts for non-Steam games though. :\
I just wanted to see if there was any update yet that would allow non-steam games to be launched on the streaming client from the command-line? perhaps its coming in a future beta?
Please just let us create shortcuts for anything within the library, including non-Steam "games" and Remote Play streaming on specific devices.
