Annoying "in-home streaming available" notification

Hello!

Please implement a way to disable in-home streaming popup device availability notification. I got a mac and a PC. When mac's lid is down and I'm working on PC, I keep receiving "device available for in-home streaming", "device no longer available for in-home streaming" as the mac "wakes up" momentaneously while its lid is down.

Well, or maybe fix steam for mac to identify it went up while still at low power mode; check for updates as it should, but do not "get ready for in-home streaming", as in fact it should not.

For now, guess I'll have to just do like everyone else, either disabling in-home streaming or keeping steam offline on the mac.

I'll be willing to beta-test the feature if you consider implementing it. So just post a follow-up here if there's the intent in developing this or a beta available with this to check.

I would like that feature, as well.
The notifications mess up full screen rendering on the TV box (fedora w/Gnome 3), which is irritating when you're watching a movie when one of the other machines go to sleep.

Yess, the problem solved when I uninstalled Steam :)

I just found the reason why the issue no longer triggered to me. Steam was disabled in my mac, requiring an upgrade. Guess I am not letting that update happen at all. :)

It is a pity we receive some trolls here to tell us things like "uninstall it", but that's something that's going to be there in any community at any time and epoch, I believe....

Anyway, unfortunately it seems there's not much support from the community to ask for this (so steam would prioritize a fix).

Then, for the time being, just keeping steam offline while not using the other instances (like the MAC in my case), was the best solution for me. From steam side, it shouldn't be that hard to implement a checkbox to disable this specific notification; but again, not many people seem to be annoyed by it, then they just work on issues that would either bring immediate money or being more often complained by.

But it is good to see that I'm not the only one that was very annoyed by this. Each person posting here a +1 counts and I hope at some point this gets the dev team's attention! :-)

You could also put a sticker on you monitor to hide it

This happens to me as well. It would be nice if there were an option in settings to disable the "Remote Play Available" notifications.

This is infuriating on unstable internet connections and displays every 15-30 minutes. I had to completely disable the feature which is not an ideal fix.

I would like the ability to disable these notifications as well. I don't want to disable streaming, I just don't want constant notifications as machines go on and offline. I really don't need the notification at all because in the case I want to go stream, I will just go to the game and check. It provides no useful information for me. Maybe someone will object to necro-posting, but duplicate threads don't seem to be bring this issue to Valve's attention either.

Many people are asking for this for years. Please consider either making this and other notifications configurable. Configuring whether notifications display or not is standard in all other major programs for years now.

It's now 5 1/2 years after the OP, and I still have this problem. Is there a fix for this yet?
