Civilization 5

I'm trying to stream sid meier's civ 5 from my windows host pc running 8 core processor and a radeon 7970 to my linux lenovo t530. The problem i have is when the client starts streaming i get the option to select directx 9 or 10/11. when i select one of them i get the game startup screens (2k logo and pre intro movie). when the game goes to the main menu i can alt tab and go to teamviewer and see the menu is up and i can start a new game. On the steam client all get is the loading screen and it appears frozen. The menu audio plays back flawlessly though. Anyone have any ideas?

turns out by setting the game to full screen mode it works fine. on a side note. if i launch notepad to stream the whole desktop i can play civ 5 in window mode.
