Mouse wheel not working on Bethesda games
ISSUE
Scrolling with the mouse wheel on Bethesda games causes the mouse wheel to constantly report the scroll direction. In other words, from a neutral state, scrolling back constantly reports back events (Causing the camera to zoom all the way out, for example, or scroll down to the bottom of a list), rather than reporting only a single scroll event. Tested on Fallout 4/NV/Skyrim. Other games work fine and a mouse plugged directly into the server works fine.

OS
Server: Windows 7 x64
Client: Ubuntu 15.10 / 15.04

STEPS
1. Run a Bethesda game
2. load a save
3. scroll the mouse wheel

RESULTS
Mouse scroll events are continuously reported

EXPECTED
Mouse scrolls to respond as expected, e.g. reporting only a single instance of the event

I've experienced this as well in Skyrim. Using the scroll wheel results in it constantly triggering a scroll event. Only solution is to quit and relaunch the game though that is sometimes difficult as the constant scrolling makes it hard to select options in the game menu.

This is attempting to play using a Windows 10 client client connecting to a Windows 7 host.

This solved the issue for me: My host machine is currently headless (no screen, keyboard or mouse) as I have no desk space to set it up. Connecting a ps/2 mouse to the server made the issue go away. I think Bethesda games get confused if there is no local mouse device with a scroll wheel connected.

This may also work with a USB mouse, but I only had a ps/2 mouse to hand.
