invites expire immediately
ISSUE
when I send a remote play together invite to a friend, it expires immediately.

OS
Windows 10

STEPS
open game (I tried Toodee & Topdee and A Hat in Time)
navigate to game's main menu
press "shift+tab" to open steam overlay
click remote play button in friends list
click the "copy link" button in remote play window
click on a friend in my friends list (multiple friends tested) to open the message window
press "ctrl+v" to paste invite link
press "enter" or click the send message button

RESULTS
the link embed says the link is expired immediately after embedding, and my friend cannot join my game

EXPECTED
the link allows my friend to join my game

somehow, yes. I can't say if this will continue to work, but when I tested it out today, it worked as normal and my friend was able to connect to my game. the only difference I noticed was the steam friends list in the overlay looked a lot larger than it usually does. I also clicked on the dropdown menu for this friend rather than just clicking their icon to pull up the message window. maybe this is something steam fixed, because I can't imagine how my actions affected the outcome of my invite link.

Sorry to dredge an old discussion up, I just cannot seem to find mention of the problem apart from this post. I seem to be getting the same problem as the thread starter. Don't think the issue is with the game itself, nor the streaming as using an ipad to stream the game via steam link worked without issue.

1- click "invite anyone to play"
2- click "invite a guest"
3- try the link on any device and be met with the following:

"Someone invited you to play a game on their computer.
But this invitation has expired!
Ask your friend for a new one if you'd like to try again."

It'll do this even if I try to join immediately after the invite has been created. Tbf this is the first time I've attempted to create invites this way, but I was hoping to allow for some friends to tag along with the game via mobile despite not having steam accounts themselves.

I've this same issue pop up to me few days ago and the result seems a bit random. Sometime it works and sometime it won't and sometime it suddenly works again after struggle with it for minutes. I haven't find a proper solution to this problem, if anyone have any insight into this issue please help :steamsad:
This is happening to me. My invitations expire immediately. Has anyone found a solution? It's so that some friends can join through their cell phones without having a STEAM Remote account.
