Streaming and Windows 10 April 2018 1803 Update

Hiya

Is anyone else having big problems streaming most games since the new Windows 10 April 2018 1803 update?

Examples of games that worked before but now don't are-

Telltale GoT
Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7
Lego Hobbit
Rayman Legends

Interestingly, Tomb Raider 2013 works fine.

There seems be a common theme with the non working games. On the host PC, instead of it displaying the running game, you just see the blue Steam big picture background, whilst the game itself seems to be not in the foreground focus or minimised.

On some games that do work, controllers misbehave due to Steam thinking the game is still in launcher and using Desktop mode.

Issues are the same whether or not NVFBC is enabled.

Same on Steam regular and beta client.

On the client machine, either the streaming quits, or displays white or black screens.

Same streaming to either Windows or Linux.

Upset, as I do nearly all my gaming streaming (either Steam IHS or Moonlight) and none of the games I was in the middle of now work. :(

Same issue with both my Shield Portable (Moonlight and official gamestream app) and Steam Link. Trails in the Sky 3 is another game that exhibits the "stuck in bluescreen" problem, though interestingly it works when choosing the dx8 option. Another problem I encountered in really bad stability with certain streamed apps through moonlight (tons of disconnects, controls failing etc). All of this after I got the April update.

So the problem might be Big Picture Mode related. For Trails in the Sky 3, I got dx9 mode to work inn BPM by either running the game in windowed mode or disabling the steam overlay. Have yet to test streaming

I am confirming that i also have the same problem since the last windows update and it could be a combination of the windows update of April with the steam update of May 16th ? since then i am getting a blue screen or back screen when i launch a game from BPM and it seems that the game is running in the background without any way to switch focus back to it. Pretty much it is behaving exactly how the original post by G3na5ideI is describing. I have tried streaming with the steam link and from a Mac laptop as a client and a PC as a host with exactly the same result using a steam controller or mouse and keyboard. I just reported this issue as a bug on the in-home streaming bug report forum

ISSUE
Game appears to start and moves to the background where the sound of the game is audible on the client computer. There is no way to regain focus from the client computer, either a blue screen or back screen appears and they only way to regain control is on the host computer using with the task manager of windows to force quit, alt+tab does not work. The same problem occurs using a steam link on a TV. This occurs on all of the games steam or non-steam. I am on the latest windows and latest steam update of may 16th 2018. I have been using this steam link and host computer for 2 years now without an issue, and have been able to play every game flawlessly right until the last steam update. I have reinstalled steam and my computer is up to date on everything. nothing has fixed it.

STEPS
Select LIBRARY from the main menu or Big picture mode
Select Left 4 Dead 2
Select Play on steam link or Stream on remote computer.

RESULTS
Game appears to start but loses focus and runs in background, and the client computer can no longer switch focus back.

EXPECTED
The Left 4 Dead 2 streams normally on client computer or steam link.
