Can't stream when linked to TV
Hey all, tech support couldn't help me so I'm reaching out here but please let me know if this is the wrong space.

I'm having issues with using the Steam Link app with the Steam Deck 512GB LCD, not the physical Steam Link device. My Steam Deck is hooked up to a TV via HDMI through a JSAUX dock. I'm trying to stream that TV's Steam Deck to my PC, so it appears via the Steam Link app on my PC, then I want to stream that app window on Discord.

On the PC Steam Link app, the connection says it's Good or better, and it detects everything except the controller which isn't relevant anyway. But every time I click "Start Playing", it starts it up showing a green check at the bottom right and loading screen. Then it resets back to the first screen. The only thing that happens to the TV during this time is the HDMI signal goes out, then after a few seconds the Deck view pops back in and says "Verifying Installation..." with the logo intro as if it's resetting or something like that. After that, the normal Deck dashboard view comes on the TV.

If I take the Deck out of the dock, bring it close to the PC, and then attempt to connect it works fine. But if I put it into the dock, it will disconnect and then refuse to connect. I am using the latest Windows download on the Steam Link page on the Steam Store. Any idea why this is happening?

Thank you, I will try there too!

Hm well the JSAUX dock works just fine with the TV alone, but my issue is I can't have the Deck in the dock with the dock connected to the TV and then also stream to my PC. Not sure if I misunderstood your question?

* i meant deck not link

not sure why it wouldnt work to stream to the client pc and display on the tv through the dock

you can check a few things
make sure any vpn is disabled
windows network is set to private not public
if using wifi, make sure wifi isolation is disabled for the ssid you use

then it will use direct connection, not steam internet relays for remote play
you can also try limiting the res on link app to 1200x800 (deck native res)
