best router to buy for this?
Hey guys, I'm moving to a new flat next week and I'm sick of always using the ♥♥♥♥ty routers from the ISPs, I'm pretty sure they're not ideal for this sort of thing.

So my guess was that I'm getting my own WIFi router with blackjack and hookers for great 5GHZ coverage. Obviously I want one that is as future proof as possible and I think stream streaming will be used a lot in my home. So that means I wanna buy a new WiFi router with a great streaming experience in mind.

Valve, do you have any suggestions, tipps on what to look for in a new one etc?

Would be great! Thanks.

E: I was thinking this one looks great.

The claimed 1.3 Gb/s speed of wireless a/c is a theoretic figure that could only be reached probably by placing your computer inside the router. Or get a really long antenna that you can wrap around your computer ;)

If I would move to a new flat I would spend some time to run cables and hide them nicely. Wireless is a long way from cable performance. Since the router in the link had Gb ethernet switch it's a good choice and the wireless must be great too even if it has it's limitations.

Yeah, I'm moving a lot in the next few years, so that's not an option, but I would do that anyway If I could. But not every device I wanna stream to of from will be wired, nVidia's shield for example.

I would strongly question the quality of experience you'll get over a wireless connection. Even if the bandwidth is there, I can't see a wireless signal giving a great experience for the streaming feature (although there is another article there talking about how it would be decent enough). I'll be using a gigabit connection for optimal experience.

For best quality of streaming, always go gigabit ethernet.
