Yes, at time of question this was not clear. After a while Valve added streaming of non Steam games.
can you maybe tell me how exactly i can stream non steam games with in home streaming? i cant find the games i added on my pc to stream into the library on my steam os box
nevermind i found it now... silly me.
but i still have the problem that my connected ps3 controller on my steam os box not work with the games i stream from my pc. is there already a fix to that? i can use my keyboard though.
@MaSTERofDisaster You might want to search for other threads on that topic or start a new thread.
You can also stream your desktop and everything on it. Just alt+tab on your streaming pc and it will continue streaming. Not sure with non-steam fullscreen games though
I've found that you can stream non-Steam games, provided that you launch them via the Steam client.

I've managed to launch Diablo 3 this way.
Guys, look at the date of this thread. We all know meanwhile that it's possible to stream non-Steam games.
I launched a game (Tomb Raider) on my desktop to play it on my laptop, and then, I saw League of Legends XD My sister taked the computer XD

I hadn't the whole screen (black screen), but I had the mouse and the sound. So, perhaps it is possible to stream other games.

Edit: yea, it's possible, I've just read the older post.

Next step: launch the game in background for the pc where the game is installed
Next the Next step: Rent powerfull dedicated servers to run games for low configurations owners XD (At the end, it could be a thing like this :crystal: money money money)

Yep, just ALT - TAB, it's just using the desktop. I have 3 screen eyefinity, so I can just use another monitor and slide stuff in.

Here's a fun one. A desktop view of the desktop streaming to a Mac OSX, that's um, streaming back. Infinite Home Streaming! :D:

I accidentally did this in team viewer, I asked MY GF to turn on my PC as I was at work already, but she "did me a favour" by opening teamviewer, and connected to my laptop at work, so when I connected to my home PC, I got the same effect, needless to say I played around with the infinite loop a bit.

I most of my non-steam games to my steam library, but I tried my non-steam version of Watch Dogs, and the sound and input streamed, but the screen was blank, anyone have advice on this?
Some games work, some don't. Under Games in your steam browser there is an option to "Add non-Steam games." This will actually put them in your steam library. Older games seem to work with no problem, however Diablo 3 does not work for me. I also added Battlenet to the library and that did not work. So, some games that have their own login sites like Diablo 3 and WOW may not work, however most of my AMazon and GOG games seem to work just fine on here. The Alt Tab trick may be one workaround for this, but I would suggest adding your non-steam games first and see if that solves the problem.

doing this in WINDOW mode works with any game just wanted to let you know
not only that you can start for example L4D2 and World of Warcraft (see my screenshot)

and on whatever window you got the focus this game will be streamed to your fancy 42" TV screen ;)

oh and also with D3 (but its not in the screenshot)

It is currently possible in the newest Steam version. Simply add a link to the game inside the host Steam and it will appear on the client, albeit without an image.
