Retina resolution on client
Hey all I'm looking for some help. I have a beefy gaming rig that I use for my host. The monitor is an ultra wide 21:9 at 3440x1440 and I'm streaming to a macbook pro retina at 16:10 2880x1800. This makes for some resolution issues. I managed to make a fake 2880x1800 resolution on my computer but the monitor won't support it. I'm wondering what can I do to go about making this work?

Right now I either have to play in window mode at a lower resolution than my macbook is capable of or the screen uses HUGE black bars when in full screen and I still can't access any proper resolutions.

Thanks for any help.

EDIT: Basically I can get any option in between 3440 and 1440. So for example I can get 1920x1200 which is a nice full screen on my mac but lower res. Or I can get upwards of 2880 but no higher than 1440 it does a random scaled number.

or if you can set your gpu to scale instead of your monitor that will fix as well. not sure how on an apple but i go into my nvidia control panel to set mine

Yes I seem to have figured it out. While my monitor on my host pc won't support or play 2880x1800 even with gpu scaling and all that I was able to set a resolution higher than that which allows me to see a full 2880x1800 on my macbook. Cheers.
