[SOLVED] GTA V (GTA5) How to send the correct resolution to the Host from the StreamMachine

Hi..

was struggling with this, but found a solution. Thought I would share it with the community in case others had this same problem. The steps shown here, are the ones i used, some steps may not have been needed. but it worked for me.

Problem: The resolution will not change on the stream-machine. 800x600 and 1024x7?? are the only resolutions that work.

Solution: Change the settings in Steam>In Home Streaming>advanced host options> check both boxes. set client option to 'Fast'. Advanced client options, set to the desktop resolution and unlimited bandwidth.

On both machines have this setting.

From your steaming program* change the desktop resolution on the stream machine to the one you wish for GTA5, Go back to the host and run the game, select the resolution you wish, then change DirectX to another one, don't worry this is just so it offers us a restart, we will be changing it back. once it offers the restart click yes. once in the settings will now save properly.

I think the main breakthrough was changing the desktop resolution. However I have it working now and am happy with it. .. reasonably happy, I am getting a slight change to the resolution, to a slightly lower one not listed and not custom. but I am working on that :)

I have been playing in 2k for the last day!

*(I use TeamViewer and really like it becuase there is not lockout and it's very easy to use once it's configured, but that could take up to a week depending on experience with VPN and this program)
