Mouse sensitivity when clicking during mouse movement
This is a pretty specific problem, so please bear with me while I explain. I'm streaming Final Fantasy XIV from a Windows 7 machine to a Windows 8.1 machine. The steaming works fine, as do the mouse and keyboard control, except for one very specific issue with the mouse. I use the mouse for camera and movement control (specifically turning). When using the mouse to do so while streaming the game to my Windows 8.1 machine, I'm experiencing a camera control/movement sensitivity issue that ONLY happens if I click while the mouse cursor is in motion. For example, if I I'm left-clicking to move the camera, and the mouse is moving AT ALL, it causes extreme motion in the camera movement (usually an instant 180 degree horizontal movement or a 90 degree vertical movement, or both together). I do not experience this sensitivity once this initially jarring motion is done. If I continue to hold the mouse button and move the mouse afterward, the control is normal. If I make sure the mouse is perfectly still before clicking, this does not happen. It also does not happen when I'm playing natively on the Windows 7 machine, nor does it happen if running the game natively on the windows 8.1 machine - only when streaming.

This might seem like a minor issue, but it makes the game very difficult to control with the mouse. It happens even if the mouse is barely in motion - for example, the tail-end of moving the cursor to the center of the screen before clicking to take control of the camera.

I've tried changing a few mouse settings on the 8.1 machine, but haven't noticed any improvement. Any ideas are appreciated!

I reported this more than half a year ago. There are constantly popping up threads that boil down to the same problem -> Mouse Movement in games, where the system centres the mouse and measures the x,y offset for relative positioning doesn´t work perfect. Especially games where you Click to Look around suffer from this, some more some less.

I have the same problem. Its always at game where you have to click and hold the mousebutton to view around, like in wow or teso.
Got this problem since steam inhom-streaming is out, but valve doesnt react on this...

I have the exact same issue in Dragon Age Origins. I almost gave up on the game because the camera is so annoying, blaming the game of course, until one day I played on the host machine and the camera worked perfectly.

The issue is exactly as described. To move the camera in DA:O you right click and hold the mouse. The problem is that as soon as you right click and move the mouse, the camera always jumps a crazy amount. This is unbelievably frustrating and makes the game nearly unplayable.

Streaming team, please prioritize this bug. It may sound like a minor issue but it makes games seriously unplayable.

Bumping this 2 year old thread because this is still an issue. Using Win 10 on both the client and server.

Another bump, please fix it!!! It has made most of my games rather unplayable, as most of them require using mouse for controlling POV, those random dramatic movements dazzle me

Problem could be fixed in client side if the client delayed the output to host by the amount it takes for click to register. Maybe 1ms would be enough? Client is pretty lightweight so it could be a setting with adjustable value how much to delay the click.
Just my thought on it.

Hey Its Ryan Jul 4, 2023 @ 12:01am
I'm still having this issue on final fantasy XIV, how has this not been fixed?? Is there even a work around in control settings?

Had this problem in FFXIV too, after messing around in settings what I found that worked for me was "system configuration, mouse settings, software cursor" with enable tracking off
