My first experience: Sideloading XBMC worked without problems and there are tutorials for paring Xbox360 and even PS3 controllers.
And I have an GTX 660 in my PC so I think I'm fitted.
However, I would very much prefer an official way to stream to the FireTV (or any other hardware for that matter). Limelight is great, but severely limited.
There is a petition targeted towards Valve to enable ARM clients (such as FireTV, RaspberryPi etc.) to act as streaming clients, but so far it hasn't gotten many votes (which I can't understand honestly).
Check it out and help:

And I could stream games via Geforce Experience.
Xbox 360 Controller runs fine.
When using Steam IHS I am getting great results, but using Limelight I can not play at all.
Here are some usefull links that helped me with this projekt.
