Stream to Amazon Fire TV using limelight.
I will get my Fire TV in September. (Preorder in Germany). And I plan to check out if it works. It should work theoretical.
So if anyone here has already a Fire TV it would be nice to get some information first hand.

So here are the things I need to know.
1.You should be able to sideload limelight on your fire TV with these instructions.
http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-sideload-apps-to-your-amazon-fire-tv-using-a-windows-pc/
2. You need an nvidia card to get it working. 650 or higher.
3. Does wired xbox 360 controller work on the Fire TV? A wireless 360 controller does work. But a wirded controller might not get enough power. A powered usb hub might help.

I will try myself sometime in September.

Got my pre-ordered Fire TV yesterday and will try out your idea today. :p2cube:

My first experience: Sideloading XBMC worked without problems and there are tutorials for paring Xbox360 and even PS3 controllers.

And I have an GTX 660 in my PC so I think I'm fitted.

It works, I already tried it 2 weeks ago (the video encode, no luck with the gamepad, but that was expected).
However, I would very much prefer an official way to stream to the FireTV (or any other hardware for that matter). Limelight is great, but severely limited.

There is a petition targeted towards Valve to enable ARM clients (such as FireTV, RaspberryPi etc.) to act as streaming clients, but so far it hasn't gotten many votes (which I can't understand honestly).
Check it out and help:

I can confirm that it works (sideload Limelight, pair with PC/GFE, run a game). I didn't pair my controller with the Fire TV but used it directly on my PC (Bluetooth, same room).

Wich controllers did you guys test? Xbox 360 wireles with Microsoft Adapter pluged into the fire TV should work. Im interrested in the wired version of the controller.

I use PS3 controller via MotionInJoy driver on Windows 7.

No, didn't buy it. 2,20€ in German Amazon Shop. <.<

Still cheaper than a new controller. But in your case it doesnt matter. Since its all in the same room.

Ok, I set it up and it runs like a charm. Xbox360 controller runs and I can stream games into my living room using limelight on the fire TV. All in big picture mode.

OMG, yes, it's working. I installed this APK:
https://github.com/limelight-stream/limelight-android/releases
And I could stream games via Geforce Experience.
Xbox 360 Controller runs fine.

Are you guys using WiFi to stream the games or wired LAN?
When using Steam IHS I am getting great results, but using Limelight I can not play at all.
