How to stream an already-installed game?
Civ5 runs Ok on my laptop, but it huffs and puffs. It plays so much better on my fixed machine. Is there a way to force my laptop to stream the game instead of using the local installation?

In big picture mode, theres a launch option to play local or stream. Never really used IHS in desktop mode, so I've no idea where to find said option on it, though I'm sure it exists

I never thought to check BPM. That worked just fine, thank you.

If you want to stream in the desktop client just click the little arrow next to the play button and select stream from your desktop rig.

You will need the game installed on your host, and for both computers to be on the same network with both versions of steam up to date and connected.

You can go into steam's preferences and go to "In-Home Streaming" and see if your desktop computer shows in the list and whether it says it's connected.

That's the basics of initiating In-Home Streaming off the top of my head.

Ach. I never thought to change the view either - I was in list view. Thank you, too.

Barman, +1s for everybody! \o/
