Steam Link Blackscreen on Android Bravia 7
Having a horrible time trying to get Steam Link working with my Steam gaming PC over wired connections.

Upon loading the steam link app on the Android Sony Bravia 7 TV (version 1.3.12) after having linked the PC and paired it correctly (all green ticks before clicking Start Playing) the screen remains black with the bottom ‘Tip’ banner showing and a blue and white beachball symbol which stops spinning. Its as if the app crashes.

I can hear the Steam Big Picture load on the PC however the Steam Link app needs to be forcefully closed on the TV as it is in a pure hung state.

Have tried using my sons gaming PC as well. Same result.

Steam link works fine through IOS iphone.

Have tried disabling hardware encoding and enabling ‘Use NVFBC Capture on Nvidia gpu’

Any advice to get this working and save Christmas?

I have the same issue with my TCL TV. I get audio but cannot see anything on the screen once I click play in the game.

Confirming same issue, also on a Bravia 7 75". This user also reported a similar issue here but turning off hardware encoding under Host settings didn't work for me: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/homestream/discussions/1/537714609897925215/

Hi all hope your Christmas was saved.

I ended up noticing it was the resolution which was causing issues. I had to set my primary gaming monitor to 1080 as well as turn off hw encoding.

Worked well nut graphics were noticeably bad through steam link. It was the lag in controls which has me thinking of a 10m hdmi or new gaming machine for the lounge Tv.

Same Issue on my 2024 Bravia 8.. blank screen with blue bar.

Moonlight works but Steam Linknseems to crash the decoder.

I have the exact same issue on my 2024 Bravia 8 65". Steam Link pairs to my host PC successfully but when I try to connect it hangs on the black screen with the tip bar. Turning off hardware encoding under host didn't help, and I have an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT GPU so I can't enable the NVidia option in Steam. Really hoping somebody knows a fix.

I tried using Moonlight too and am able to pair my TV with the PC, but it also hangs when I try to connect. Did you change any of the default settings in Sunshine to make it work?
